    Inspires you to eat healthy!!

A friend mentioned this show, but I assumed it was a cooking show -- I wasn't that excited to watch another one of those. And then I caught a few seconds of it as it trailed an old DVR'd show I was watching. I went online and watched the first episode. Then I was hooked.

I am 5 1/2 months pregnant and, with the exception of eating fruit for snacks, I have gotten in the habit of eating take-out and fast food. This show makes me want to cook and eat healthy again!!!

It doesn't preach and Jamie doesn't always succeed -- it's the real life documentary of one man trying to get the unhealthiest city in America (Huntington, WV) to eat healthy.

It is definitely must see TV!!!!!

Jamie Oliver always shocked sorta preachy

Jamie Oliver preaching healthy eating. It lasted two 6-episode seasons. As a TV show, it had its moments. I would definitely watch this more than any of those weight loss show.

In the first season, he's going to the most obese town in America to confront bad eating habits. In the second one, he's back in L.A. to confront unhealthy eating there. He's always shocked, and sometimes his demonstrations are hokey.

The ratings were low. His effects on the people he helped is undeniable, but the long term effects he had on the wider public was questionable at best.... until... Political forces started to confront the so-called pink Slime. How much was it due to his show's demonstration is questionable. But at least he opened my eyes.

10 stars and here is why!

Hey all I am not writing a review on this to let you know that this is a show with a great story line or personalities or what ever. It really is not a TV show that has been set up with an agenda like a reality TV show.

Jamie is doing this because he has a passion not for just food but saving lives. That is the difference for this show and all those other competitive cooking shows, like Iron chef. This one is based on saving lives and preventing disease.

I was a small child when I started growing a brain Tumour on my mind. I wish Jamie had come to my school well before I was there and he had not. I lived with my disease from the age of 7 through to age 18. What I went through, I want on no child. The pain I went through as a child was horrific, I never enjoyed the life I should of. I enjoyed a life of brain disease and had no l knowledge of it. Nothing is worse than this.

Not until a year ago did I start to learn there was a reason for my brain Tumour and there is a means also to stop it. That means is food. I learned modern foods that are refined and processed are the reason for my disease. They disabled my bodies ability to fight cancer. It will also disable yours. Sure not everyone I know got cancer and that is the risk. We can all get it. Some of us just get lucky but some do not. Nutrition brings life.

I learned that nutrition is the answer to preventing these horrible diseases. If you disagree with me, don't. You most likely have no idea how awesome the food found in nature is. It would be well worth your time to go and learn about these. Start with, ginger.

The basis of this TV show is to save lives and stop the suffering none of us deserve.

If you are well, be grateful; know you can lose it! If you are not well, be grateful; know you can get it back.

To us all, learn from my mistake and begin a life of nature, healing and positive health!

Jamie Oliver is the one who can do this, he has the personality and the power to win people over. I honour that man.

A fresh look at the tie between fresh food and good health

Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution is a new take on connecting diet and health in a concrete way. The entire season is spent inside "America's unhealthiest town," based on rate/age of death. Jamie is so impassioned about the subject that he would rather help the citizens up than look down on them. Along the way he does step on a few toes and must be shown where his statements become insulting, but everyone is able to apologize and move on. The families and schools with horrible eating practices are encouraged to identify the weakness, grasp the scope of the problem, and then make positive change. The show preaches moving forward, not shame of the past.

The proposed diet changes in the show are not about losing weight, they are about eating healthy – weight loss is a consequence of healthy diet and exercise. Jamie is about using real, fresh ingredients to make nutritious food. He's forced to deal with the issue of money in the school and help hammer out a budget, though the show's biggest weakness is in this area as families may still be left wondering how to afford this better food.

Americans, and many other Westerners, need a place to be able to go and say, "I need help. I don't know how to cook, I don't know how to feed my kids in a healthy way," without any shame. Jamie Oliver's food revolution is a great first step. Anyone who needs help should start here to see that you are not alone. Anyone who wants to help should start here to understand the depth and breadth of the problem.

Obesity is an epidemic in today's world. Pointing figures, placing blame, and wondering "what if we had done things different" is not going to get us anywhere. This show is concerned with starting today and looking towards the future. It's slightly political, slightly spiritual, and completely honest.
