Broken Silence was entered into the Short Film Corner at Festival de Cannes in 2010 where it was given a Coup de Coeur (Cream of the Crop) recommendation along with several other films out of 1700+ entries.

Goofs
The soldier being shot is actually Director Darren S Cook tripping over his own feet. The fall was not in the original script, but the footage worked so well it made it into the final cut.
