In the months since exiting “General Hospital,” actress Kelly Monaco (ex-Sam McCall) has been relatively quiet on social media. That changed recently when she announced she would host a brand-new podcast series with long-time friend Shanna Moakler, titled “Bad Bunnies,” a reference to their time as Playboy playmates.
“Buckle up, Bunnies… Kelly Monaco & @shannamoakler are teaming up for a brand-new podcast, Bad Bunnies!” said Monaco in a post on Instagram announcing the new project. “Unfiltered. Untamed. Unapologetic. We’re bringing you Hollywood secrets, wild stories, pop culture tea, and real talk—nothing is off-limits!
“But before we drop our first episode, we want to hear from You! What topics do you want us to spill on? Reality TV chaos? Dating disasters? Hollywood drama? Let us know in the comments! Tag your besties & get ready—Bad Bunnies is coming Soon!”

Exclusive: Aardman, the iconic UK animation studio behind Chicken Run and Wallace & Gromit, has closed around 20 jobs as it grapples with the increased cost of production.
Deadline understands that Aardman is in the process of making less than 5% of its 425 employees redundant following a savings review undertaken by management.
A third of the redundancies were voluntary, while two roles remain in consultation. It is hoped that some of the individuals who have lost their jobs can return to Aardman on a freelance basis.
As part of the restructure, Aardman has created new roles to wring increased value out of its intellectual property. These roles include a senior licensing manager and sales executive.
The cost-cutting initiative comes as Aardman has filed its earnings for 2023, which reveal that the studio sunk to a pre-tax loss of £550,135. The company made a profit of £1.56M in 2022.

Wckd had at least four different mazes, according to The Scorch Trials, setting up a perfect reboot story for The Maze Runner franchise. The original movie trilogy doesn't spend enough time in the maze, making a reboot focusing on different maze test subjects an intriguing idea. Returning to the roots of the series by exploring new narratives about Wckd's experiments could draw fans back to the Maze Runner universe.
The Maze Runner is getting a reboot, and the movies already introduced the perfect story for it nine years ago though it isn't covered in James Dashner's books. The Maze Runner movies adapted the YA dystopian series for the big screen, following Dylan O'Brien's Thomas as he wakes up in a mysterious maze with no memory. From there, he's thrown into a dangerous world where it's not entirely clear who the enemy is. Thomas and his friends quickly discover...

The Maze Runner movies confirm four mazes run by Wckd, with different climates and challenges for the children to escape. Scorch Trials reveals that one maze was all girls except for Aris Jones, with creatures called Shades in snowy and icy surroundings. The Maze Runner reboot could incorporate the other mazes as a jumping-off point to tie-in the existing movies.
One of the biggest and most nebulous questions related to the Maze Runner movies is how many mazes Wckd ran throughout the movie franchise. Based on the books by James Dashner, the movie series explores a dystopian world after the Maze Runners virus called the Flare turns humans into mutant zombie-like monsters called Cranks. To try and find a cure, an organization called World In Catastrophe: Killzone Experiment Department (Wckd for short) puts a group of teenagers into an experiment where they must survive without resources next to a maze...

One of the mandates laid out by actor Patrick Stewart prior to the shooting of "Star Trek: Picard" was that the new Trek series not be a reunion special. He didn't want to return to "Star Trek" after 15 years (his last appearance as Jean-Luc Picard was in "Star Trek: Nemesis" in 2002) just to participate in an insufferably teary series wherein the cast of "Star Trek: The Next Generation" tiresomely get back on the bridge of the Enterprise-d and re-do everything they had done on the celebrated 1987 series. By the time the third season of "Picard" rolled around, the series resoundingly broke that mandate.
In the show's first two seasons, however, the showrunners had to innovate. Picard was no longer a starship captain, and his closest allies were not an official Starfleet crew. Indeed, the main characters on "Picard" were all free agents, with most of them actively resentful of Starfleet.

A&e canceled The Glades after its fourth season, leaving the storyline unresolved and frustrating viewers. The planned fifth season would have focused on investigating Jim's shooting, with twists and suspects to keep viewers engaged. While the chances of a revival are slim, there is still hope for The Glades to return after a long hiatus, as other shows have done.
The fourth season of A&e’s crime drama may have ended on a cliffhanger in 2013, but The Glades season 5 isn’t likely. The Glades focused on Chicago cop Jim Longworth (Jigsaw’s Matt Passmore), who leaves the Windy City after being wrongfully accused of having an affair with his boss’s wife and takes a job as a detective with the state police in the sleepy Florida Everglades town of Palm Glade. Although Jim is expecting a slower pace of life, he soon finds out there’s more criminal...

Every show gets canceled eventually, and it's best when the writers can wrap up the character's endings nicely. Ted Lasso, Succession, The Good Place, The Golden Girls, and The Mary Tyler Moore Show all knew that their time had come and that the show would end with the final season. This gave the writers time to figure out which direction to take the characters and where they wanted them to end up. But what if they don't get the chance? What if they plan the best cliffhanger in history, and the show gets canceled? And we never know what happens. The Netflix show Glow is one that still hits hard; they were all about to make big decisions, but we never got an outcome. Angel and Legends of Tomorrow also left us with cliffhangers that will never be resolved. Marvel's Agent Carter was one of the tougher ones as well...

Recent TV cancellations have affected viewers' willingness to even start watching a television series, a new study shows. Many popular or big-budget television series have been axed left and right across network and streaming platforms over the course of the previous year. This includes one of the most recent cancellations, Disney+'s Willow sequel series, which brought back Warwick Davis as the title character from the 1988 fantasy film classic.
Per Variety, this spate of cancellations has severely impacted audiences, as revealed by a survey performed by YouGov. According to their results, audiences are now more likely to wait until a season or even an entire series has ended before binging it, for fear of it being canceled on a cliffhanger. 46 percent of American viewers said that they prefer to wait for the series to end before even beginning it, with the highest proportion of viewers being in the coveted 18 to 34 age range.

Women’s Weekend Film Challenge (Wwfc) is launching a pilot accelerator program for writers to pitch female-centric content.
The program, which will see emerging TV writers pitching beginning in October of this year, was designed to help such writers advance their careers, as well as to increase the representation of women non-binary people working in television.
“So many members of our community have pilot scripts ready to go but no one to pitch to,” Wwfc co-founder Tracy Sayre said in a statement. “This gap became especially apparent over the last year as we’ve hosted weekly virtual workshops; far and away, the most popular events have centered around how to pitch and how to break into the writers room. This accelerator is a natural response to the career goals of our community.”
Wwfc is accepting applications for the accelerator on FilmFreeway from June 17 to July 21, 2021. The program will take place virtually.

It appears The Baker and the Beauty‘s cancellation will stick: Efforts to find a new home for the axed ABC romantic dramedy have proven unsuccessful, TVLine has learned.
The news comes three weeks after Alphabet network cancelled the show, citing low ratings. In the immediate aftermath of the announcement, the series’ leading lady, Nathalie Kelley, condemned the decision. “Baker and the Beauty is a show that depicts Latin families as warm, lovable, full of joy and compassion and humor,” the actress said. “A cancellation by ABC means that there are now no shows on the networks with a Latinx cast.

The Baker and the Beauty may be canceled, but Nathalie Kelley has released a new statement on the matter, conceding that the decision to end the drama is "extremely tone deaf."
"We are seeing now more than ever that representation is important for Black and brown people of color. How we are represented on our television shows determines how society sees us, and the empathy and support they will grant our communities," Kelley said.
"When we are constantly depicted as narcos and maids, we can’t expect to find favor with voters when they go to the polls and elect leaders who will decide on the fate of immigrants."

ABC on Monday night announced the status of its remaining bubble series, and while it was good news for one of them, it was bad news for the other.
The Baker and the Beauty has been canceled after a nine-episode freshman season.
Based on the Israeli series, the series starred Victor Rasuk as Daniel Garcia, a regular Joe who works at his parents’ Cuban bakery in Miami.
On the night that his girlfriend Vanessa proposes to him by singing Taylor Swift’s “Love Story” in the middle of a fancy restaurant, Daniel bumps into the beautiful Noa Hamilton (Dynasty‘s Nathalie Kelley), a model-turned-fashion mogul who is coming off a highly publicized split with her cheating actor boyfriend.
An unlikely romance between the baker and the beauty kicks off, but unfortunately, the series went largely ignored in traditional ratings.
It averaged around 2.5 million viewers and a 0.5 rating in the all-important 18-49 demographic.
