The advance in technology, particularly the ease in transfer of money over smartphones, means that crooks are also getting high-tech with their scams and thieving ways. One such crime that has seen a large spike in cases in the recent years is voice phishing, the use of telephone calls to scam people out of their hard-earned money, with hundreds of millions of dollars being swindled the world over each year. The disadvantage of modern technology and financial scams are both great fodder for filmmakers, so it was only a matter of time before someone produced a story set in this criminal enterprise. That someone ended up being director duo Kim Gok and Kim Sun, best known for low-budget horror fare, who were provided with a decent budget for thriller "On The Line".
Do not accept any suspicious calls, and if they mention money, just hung up. Lastly, a lot of victims are blaming themselves, but it's not your fault."

This movie casted Korean avengers of villains!! Covers current issue with phone catfishing in Korea. Definitely one of best work from Kim brothers production.
These action thriller rolling outta the koreallywoo'd filmstudios, its packed with crime, noise,, fights and gunblasting, combine that with a complex plot operation and a portion of great musical score and blend in the cutest cast in the world, then you have a marvel of intesity and joy.
Of course , for a western world viewer its difficult to follow the language and cultural rites that is a good mix of humbleness of the hierarchy, where words and punishment sweeps all and everyone at the step lower than yourself, but thats why i view these south korean films, they are top of the craftmanship and so different even when copycatting holly or bolly-wood blockbusters...
its a film about phishing , or scamming money outta people by use of digital devices such as smartphones, tablets or whatever you may communicate with. A large operation that apex from china with korean collaborators milks money from ''clients'' using a well dictioned script for large team operations luring the person on the other end of the ''line''.
Im not a tech guy, but after what ive read this kind of scam is already stoneage tech, cause now they can use A. I. tech to do the human voice, however a well acted, archtypical korean action thriller with good deeds done, makes the grumpy old man recommend. Manse manse manse...!

The movie starts very well and despite the phishing scam in a detailed manner. However, the plot becomes jumbled mid way. The hero is as clueless as a rat in a maze. He has no plan and is just acting like a fool.
Plot with a good potential has been ruined by was of the poor script and mediocre acting.
