The Witcher: Les Sirènes des abysses

I am a fan of the witcher books and the games,I tried to watch this show with an open mind but so many issues kept cropping up it made the movie unwatchable for me.

Cat potion should not be treated as some super strength serum and Aard should not be able to pull you only push.

You need to stick to the source material if you want witcher fans to watch it.but on a sidenote Having a animated show about the witcher is a nice idea.it becomes easier to execute than a movie especially the monsters.

Just better writing please,these mistakes are so silly and easily rectified but to a witcher fan it's annoying to see.

You have a gold mine here in story but it's poorly executed Anyway avoid this if you a witcher fan.

Christina wren's English accent is just dreadful. It's like she's just watched Oliver Twist over again to try and capture a cockney accent but butchers it completely. Why they didn't just hire someone with an English accent is beyond me.

Storyline is boring.

Action is good.

Besides Wren, voice acting is good. Interesting to get a bit of background on dandelion. Don't know why they made him a giant pussy though.

There's some mad similarities to this story and the little mermaid which is hilarious.

I can't tell you how bad the accent is. It's literally making me want to lower my rating more.

Some laughable storytelling choices, including one that the writers had the nerve to play like a twist ending despite it being as inevitable as the rising sun. Voice acting does have a "pulled off the street" quality for some of the characters, but the performers from the Witcher show and the video games do a pretty good job.

Also, this is Netflix Witcher so you know going into it that Geralt is the 3rd or 4th lead. But for those who are unaware of how Netflix has managed this franchise, that's worth keeping in mind.

The action is actually pretty slick, although the last sequence tends to drag on a bit.

Altogether, this is a totally missable offering unless animated gore really gets you out of bed in the morning.

I haven't read the books, but I've watched anything Witcher related out there and I'm a big fan of the games. Although the fighting scenes with Geralt are perfect and entertaining, I feel like the entire thing lacked the emotion I'm used to with the games. The music in the background was barely audible, which took away a lot of the tension and feeling it usually creates. What you can hear the most is the sword slashing and voice acting (including breathing and whatnot), or other times just complete silence (which is usually used to create a certain atmosphere) that seems out of place. The story is pretty predictable and too much Little Mermaid like. The reasoning behind the characters' actions is too simple, in a way that makes you think "that's all there is to it?".

I think it had potential to be something good, even with the story being written as it was, if the rest of it managed to pull your heart into it by creating that Witcher feel. As it stands, it felt a bit disconnected or lacking at times. It was kinda boring because it completely missed the mark to be honest...

Out of all the books, Essi's story had the most impact. Her story was very emotional and touching in the books, but Netflix ruined it. This movie starts well but has no depth, it's just plain. In my opinion, this version shouldn't have seen the light of day.

The story was not complex at all, with some fighting scenes that looked like 1970's Chinese martial arts fantasy movies. It does feel as the essence of the Witcher universe is slowly being lost, only to profit from the brand.i won't be surprised at all if they decide to cancel. I wonder why? (Rhetorical question) Overall, an ok rushed Witcher movie.
