    "Gay" Characters?

This is a very moving presentation of a wounded warrior (Buck) after he's returned home. His "gay" cousin (Daniel) asks him to move in and offers to take care of him. Daniel's best friend James is also "gay".

The story is very poignant and I thought the acting was very good. However, there is absolutely nothing "gay" about the supposed "gay" characters. The actors are unconvincing as "gay" men. They act "straight" as an arrow. If all references to a same-sex orientation were taken out of the script it wouldn't impact the story line at all.

As a gay man I was disappointed by the lack of relevance in this regard. A gay subplot would have made an even more interesting story. There are thousands of LGBT soldiers. I'm sure there are many wounded warriors from among them with stories to tell.

    Heart Felt

Have just finished watching this movie. Why it's only rating low 3's is beyond me. Maybe be it's the GAY thing. O.k. the acting was not award gaining but the story line so true. For anyone interested in our returned vet's, this is one to watch. So often we turn our backs on the people that have offered their lives to protect all of us that are at home and that is shameful. The dialogue between the two main actors is heart felt and intriguing. Some of the scene's are shot well and the growth of the storyline continues throughout the movie. As I have already stated if it's action you want give this movie a miss, but, if it's a story for today...this is it

    Totally recommended

    A Warm Wind

I found this film very honorable. A film about subjects which are American today. Veterans, gay friends, drunken fathers, broken people and families. These are people and subjects not treated well in Hollywood. This film has done a great job of have a real dialog mixed with motion picture technology. Thank you. There could have have some more back ground music during some of the pensive moments in the film. That is my only negative part to a wonderful movie.

I hope this film is seen by a wider public. Maybe, screening through out the VA hospital system.

Thank you for making this movie.

    Heartfelt

A warm wind was a gentle wind. A gentle telling of the life of a Marine post combat. I love veterans, first of all. So this movie got a +50 points just for beginning to tackle such an important modern day issue. Sure its a little slow to get started but the dialogue opens up it goes for a run with your heart. The acting is okay. But the story is so important. Its so important, I cant stress this more. Its uncomfortable, but I think America needs to be a little uncomfortable when it comes to the results of a war such as this. Be a little uncomfortable, it teaches you humanity. Bravo. If your looking for action, skip to transformers. Yet if you want something that is going to make you think, that may motivate you to do some good in the world, then watch this. Wounded troops need you. And not all scars a physical. Semper Avanti.

The Politics of the Film are Wrong

Just watched the movie and boy did the father's scene piss me off. His argument was all wrong. We were supposed to be fighting the war against Afghanistan's involvement with Osama bin Laden and his followers. That's where they were. Bush pushed for going into Iraq because his father started something with Saddam Hussein and left it unfinished a decade earlier. Iraq was like a bone a dog worries until he finishes sharpening his teeth on it. That is the argument I have with the films argument. Instead of leaving me filled with national pride, it left me feeling like I had been used into watching this film because I really thought most of the writing was pretty good up to that point. Then it just pissed me off.
