Promising in areas, but very obscure plot and a problem that plagues a lot of survival horror games.

I got this game when it first came out and when I first started playing it I thought it was going to be a very grand survival horror game. You start out as a girl left in the middle of nowhere, she walks to the house in the distance and this is like the best portion of the game. Strange things peeking here and there, I was tense wondering what to expect. Unfortunately, for the most part the game is one long fetch quest where there just is not a lot of answers forthcoming. Perhaps it is because I did not use the gun properly in the last portion of the game, thus I did not get the best ending, but still this game had me confused on a lot of points. Then there is the fighting which was very annoying, my advice is run like crazy when you can because fighting is very tough going as most of the time you are being assailed by this tiny creatures which are unnerving to say the least. During most of the game you are assisted by a dog the main character names Brown, her only friend among a bunch of girls in this strange orphanage where things are not as they seem. During the middle portion of the game you are in some strange airship where you must fetch things to prove your worth to the other cruel girls. You use your dog to sniff out these items and from what I understand you can get him to find a whole lot of cool stuff, but I was unable to do this as I focused on the task at hand and ran, ran and ran some more from those creepy cleaner things. I am thinking a strategy guide would have been a real asset. As it is, fun in some regards, very annoying in others.
