    Failure to show story's brilliance

This episode fails to show Ken Follet's brilliance in writing "the Pillars of the Earth" for numerous reasons. The level of drama and corniness was absurd and even made me laugh out loud at times. The book's storyline captures and intrigues the audience on it's own without the addition of "made up" plots such as King Stephen hiring an assassin that appears to murder Jack as well as Bishop Waleran forcing Prior Phillip to confess while being tortured only to be left to a hanging. The only thing keeping me watching is how fun it is to point out the outlandishness of each scene and comical it really is. Any non-reader of the actual book would not think twice about picking it up after viewing this mini-series. So far episode #4 = "Worst episode ever."

    Conspiracies

The story keeps being full of plot twist and treason for personal purpose. Can't wait to see how it continues in the next episode!
