    Very Good One

In less than an hour happens a tons of things with a lot of names! Moreover it seems it's well done. And I like the soundtrack.

Political cunning crash between the Priory Philip and Bishop Waleran!!!!

Ken Follett's book went to screen on this fabulous miniseries on four chapters, driven to show the backstage of the power at England, the facts took place on 1.135 A.D. when the King Henry I was poisoned, the country splits on two sides, Bartholomew the Earl of Shiring supported the King's Daughter Maude to the Crow, However the member of the Clergy feel free to support a nephew of the King, before the Monk Philip and the Father Waleran make a deal, he indicates Philip as new Priory in exchange he indicates Waleran as new Bishop, meanwhile the old church was burned, Tom Builder planned a modern new one to Philip, between the hostilities at civil war, Philip needs money to start a new cathedral, stones and woods, Philip already developed a political cunning to got his target, although it has a high price to pay, Bishop Waleran felt betrayed, a hidden secret was still covered, a surviving from the shipwreck is death, but he had a son, great storyline, don't miss!!

I cannot believe how cheap this feels

I wasn't expecting this to be "premium" television, but this honestly almost feels like a CW production. The acting is good, the writing seems fine, but editing & direction are off the rails BAD. The scene in the forest required a stuntman, why I don't know, but anyway the stuntman and the actor are apparently interchangeable in the scene. They didn't even try to hide the stuntman's face. Really lazy direction and editing.

    • Quotes

      Stephen: There's Gloucester.

Archbishop: The king's bastard? He will never inherit.

Stephen: There's the king's legitimate daughter, Maud.

      Archbishop: A child. And female.

Stephen: Then, I suppose, there's me. But I'm only the king's nephew.

Archbishop: And... grandson of William the Conqueror. This shipwreck puts you in direct line to the throne, my good Stephen, which we will support when the time comes. Since, unlike the king, you hold the Church in high esteem.
