When GSN introduced Tug-of-Words last year, I was instantly hooked! I watched it whenever possible until it disappeared from my local Comcast lineup in Tucson.
The method of play in ToW is unlike any other game show that I know. Most TV games have several rounds of identical play with increasing point values, then a final bonus round. ToW has a progression of challenges, first changing one of three letters per word, then one of four letters, then two of five letters, and finally changing whole words in two-word phrases. The variety and increasing difficulty of game play hold viewer interest well, making ToW one of the best game shows ever aired (in my opinion, at least).
Two aspects of the show can be improved. They should do away with the pretend tug-of-war during the opening credits. It is embarrassing to watch, and probably a lot more embarrassing for the players (they might replace it with animation, like the opening for Whose Line Is It Anyway? ). And the emcee, Ahmad Rashad, needs to inject some humor and enthusiasm! A little coaching from more seasoned hosts might help a lot.
I really miss Tug-of-Words, and I hope to see it again in my cable offerings soon!

On the Nov. 24 episode, the word mast was the answer to flying a flag at half _____. A mast is on a ship. Not many served on ships, including Mr. Rashad. On land the flag is flown at half staff. Hire a veteran to accurately create clues/answers.

OMG!!!!!! I have been watching the first few episodes on GSN and absolutely love it. Ahmad Rashad is ONE cool game show host. Now the new season for the show, I even enjoy more. GSN got the one and only Samantha Harris from Dancing With The Stars and ET for 2nd season and she she is ROCKING IT!!!!!! Each time I see the next new episode, I always play along. Extremely competitive and I can't wait for more episodes to come on GSN.
Precious time is wasted when contestant gives wrong answer. All Ahmad has to do is read the correct answer not figure it out for himself. On last word if it is wrong he doesn't even say what correct answer is.
Very monotone. Maybe watching another host or hostess on a different timed game show will help him.
Show concept is good, host is not a good fit.

Host is too, too slow with questions, which isn't fair to contestants. They should be able to answer as soon as they can without penalty. It seems he deliberately talks slow. Either get another host or tell him to speed up!
