When I started watching this, I assumed it would be as ridiculous as it sounds. I was surprised, however, that it was more intelligent and interesting than I had expected. This was due mainly to the subject of the film, and his occult guide. My impression was that the filmmakers themselves appeared to initially conceive of the film as a way to make fun of how superficial and self centered people in Hollywood are, but instead it became a more serious film about the occult and human nature. It's definitely worth watching.
