Is it the best kids movie ever? No. But it has enough fun and storytelling power to keep you entertained. It is one of those 'easy' and 'comforting' stories with funny and relatable characters in a cool medieval fantasy setting.
The main story of an orphan that is not seen by society and makes her own way but ends up being the big saviour isn't a new one, but the setting and especially the extra characters in the form of animals make this a lovely film.
The storyline has enough extra layers and twists to stay fun and it has quite a bit of spunky humour to get out a chuckle or two. Go watch this with your kids.

French animation movie , with a plot based in a village in the dark ages, with themes and incisions of inspiration from loads of other feature animations, even though living its own brilliant life and story, with some generic caracters that the squemish adult will call childish and childrens tv like, but nope, this has some exquisit animation and such a sharp edited product that you shouldnt let this pass at any means...
a good laugh, top notch animation and a big recommend from the grumpy old man and missus, for everyone above age 4.

Ok, so firstly, I'm 41 and this film was probably not made for me. I watched it because I love animation - and it did not disappoint, I genuinely really enjoyed it. Yes, it wasn't a particularly original story, however I found the well known tropes amusing in way perhaps children wouldn't. I can't quite figure out who was voicing the main characters in the UK, but apart from Pil who felt a little off, I think they did a good job. The music was amusing, in a fake renaissance way. Another reviewer likened the animation to circa 2005 and that I really didn't see. It obviously wasn't the standard of a big budget Pixar, but that's not what it is! The animal characters in particular were incredibly well crafted; amusing, adorable and believable.
As an adult animation fan, I can definitely attest to it being a worthwhile watch and will be recommending it to my small godchildren who I know will love it.

I really loved this movie and so did my 7 and 12 year old kids. Without adding spoilers I'll just say that the story is cute and the pacing is also perfect with never a boring moment. The dark and evil parts are also not scary. Instead they turned those into something funny. I'm thoroughly entertained and full marks from me. 10/10.
I watched this with my 3 and 5 year old at the movies and there is only the one scene which was pretty scary for them but overall it was funny, had a decent story line, and we all enjoyed it. I recommend this as a good family watch.
