This seems to have been a script by committee, so it's mostly clumsy (and long) narrative dumps punctuated by action scenes. I guess I was naive to think there might be more character development. What little there is had negligible impact on me which is unfortunate because I really liked these characters in the first movie.
We did get to see Quhyn at least and, understandably, she's not a happy camper. I liked her scenes with Theron's Andy. Uma Thurman is a terrific villain. I enjoyed the fight choreography until the climactic battle. I would be very happy to never see another helicopter in an action movie climax. At this point they trigger only eye rolls from me.
Given that I have a weakness for Matthias Schoerharts gorgeous eyes and Charlize swinging a labrys, I will generously give this disappointing movie 5 stars.

I quite enjoyed the original film and was excited when this came out.
Unfortunately, it's chock full of lazy writing with some mediocre acting sprinkled in. It dragged on and on, and when things started to look interesting, the movie ended! I wouldn't event call that a cliffhanger - that would imply something interesting that didn't conclude. This was not interesting. This left a bad taste in the mouth.
There were a couple really lame attempts at humor that fell flat.
You just get the impression they were bent on making this sequel into 2 parts. This being a primer for a finale. Except this is a terrible ad for that finale.
Someone called this the "typical sequel" and sadly, that's true. This was badly made.
5/10 is generous for this flick.

What was that? Where did the second half of the film go? My five points are lenient, as I like the first movie, the story, and the actors. I was really excited about this film and also curious to see what would become of Quynh after lying at the bottom of the sea for 500 years and dying about 4 million times. That must do something to you. But no! After 45 minutes, I was wondering when the film would finally start. It was so slow, and ultimately the story is just boring. Just as disappointing as Highlander 2 ;-). And shortly before the end, I realized that this film has no ending, and Netflix had simply ripped me off.
First of, I quite liked the first one. It was not the greatest movie ever, not by a long shot. But it was quite enjoyable.
Here we have a "typical sequel" in the worst kind of way. It takes bits of the original one and weaves it into into a very obscure second part that does not make sense at all.
I was looking forward to seing Uma Thurman again, but her role is actually rather small, not interesting and not very well played.
They opted for fight scenes rather than substance or at least a storyline and the result is just boring, pointless and disappointing.
Worst of all, it looks like they are going for a third part, which I will definitely NOT watch.

Sorry, but as this is a sequel, I have to compare to the first one. And boy oh boy, what an utter disappointment. So many shortcuts, so many empty and void characters. They could have made something good with Uma's arrival but no, just an empty movie. Oh, and the fight choreography is definitely not up to the first one. Also way less violent than the first. And the story in itself is not bad per se, but the way it is shown is just plain déjà-vu. Also, the way some characters interact with each other feels fake, too many inconsistencies.
My advice, go watch the first one and stay at that, you'll spent better your time.

- TriviaFilming was temporarily disrupted due to a fire at Cinecittà Studios, the fire destroyed a historic Florence set and "threatened the Big Brother house." It was quickly put out.
- GoofsThe men in the group are captured after they are frozen with liquid N2. Even with gallons of liquid N2 being poured onto them, they would not freeze solid as shown. Objects only freeze solid when submerged for several seconds to minutes. Since they are warm, they would need several minutes submerged in liquid N2 to freeze solid. By just pouring the liquid N2 over them, they would get surface burns, but would still be able to step away from the N2, alive and well.
