Who would have thought a science adventure show could be this much fun.

I love this show. I'm not really a science guy but you can't help but be bitten by the passion demonstrated by Geoffrey Notkin Steve Arnold. They always come across as genuinely excited for their quest for rocks from space which takes them all over the world and to some truly amazing sites. The pace of the show is perfect and the personalities of the hosts only compliments the hunt. These guys are true meteorite geeks, drinking in the history and the science and the adventure of the hunt in every episode. I've never met anyone who's seen this show and wasn't totally passionate about it, kids, adults of all ages everyone. Its a great conversation starter. If someone has seen the show they light up when you mention it. Warning, VERY binge watchable. It's like antiques roadshow if it were a travel show and were hosted by people you really want to hang out with and who are way more interesting then most everyone else you've ever met, with just a tiny bit of Indiana Jones thrown in. If you have an adventurous soul and want to be left feeling like anything is possible, this is one not to miss.

    I love shows like this.

Any show which has an interesting and unique hobby as a foundation for it's topic is good in my book, and this is one. The series did become boring at certain points, but it was still amazing to know people actually find stuff like that and do that as a hobby.

    This show's definitely a "meteor-right " !

Amazingly, this show is a lot of fun to watch. Who would have thought that watching a couple guys with metal detectors scour the ground for rocks would be so interesting? Well, given that they're searching for space debris that is often older than the Earth itself, it's enough to add an immediate air of interest.

One thing that's great about the show is that these guys are fairly laid back and relaxing to watch. Geoff is in it for finding cool rocks for his personal collection while Steve is focused on the money. Every time they find a rock, we see a pop-up graphic that tells us the approximate monetary value of the find. A pebble-sized rock can easily go for $200-$300 while a small hand-held one can eclipse the $1000 mark. On a good day, they seem to be able to pull in roughly $10K (or so it seems).

Another thing that's amusing to watch is them toiling in harsh heat or cold of remote locations for these elusive iron-based objects. We then see them head to the nearest university to learn weather the rocks they've found are truly extraterrestrial in origin. It's the moment of truth ... and the news is not always good.

The show also does a beautiful job of using comic-book like graphics to keep you in suspense about things through the commercial breaks. What a fantastic extra touch! If you like shows about space, treasure hunting or rock collecting - this is a program worth checking out.

    Digging up rocks?

I actually enjoyed this show. It was like watching a treasure hunt and they actually find something.
