In Family Bond, Mei and her son Ryusei arrive, upsetting the family of master carpenter Shingo Kawasaki. The film creates an emotional tapestry that occasionally goes beyond its earnestness by fusing poetic fantasy with poignant drama. I enjoy the heartwarming story, while I think the circumstances are unrealistic or too dramatic. In spite of this, Tsuyoshi Nagabuchi's dominating presence and emotional intention make Family Bond a film worth seeing.
