I enjoyed this TV thriller. Fast moving and adventurous. I normally take a long time browsing through various streaming apos then reading reviews and end up watching nothing trying to find something to watch. I'm not an expert on production script lighting etc just want to be entertained. I binge watched this over a couple of evenings and really liked it. It kept me wondering what would happen next. Yes there are some plot holes but the characters and story kept me hooked. Eva Green plays her part well and Vincent Cassellbl hebis so hot. I thought there was real chemistry between these two. Good to see a fellow Scot Peter Mullan who played his character well. Good stuff. Give it a shot.
I do not get the bad reviews people are giving this show. Sure it's far-fetched like most espionage thrillers. I thought this was so much better than the laughable, The Night Agent.
The acting was really good. I love Eva Green. She was amazing and absolutely brilliant playing the character of Vanessa in Penny Dreadful series.
This show was very interesting to me. You get a real taste of Europe while watching. It is such a shame to see what we humans have done to this earth. Nuclear/industrial plants on Dunkirk beach, gigantic monstrous glass buildings everywhere in Europe and in Brussels EU commission headquarters is over the top human trash. It is no better here in the U. S. A, Canada, South America. Everywhere humans have left scars all over this earth. It is shameful.
Getting back to the show I thought it was suspenseful and I like the characters even though they were all very flawed.
These types of shows (unless they are true stories) are not to be taken as realistic or in a serious fashion. They are pure entertainment. Some I like and are watchable others I love, love, love and then some stink. Liaison was a show I liked. I was not bored and I found the plot quite interesting.

I don't always agree with professional critics, but this has gotten stunning bad reviews for good reason. Even the lead actors refused to do scheduled promotion for this mess, this clearly wanting to distance themselves.
To be frank, this production is just awful. The series has a feel of a committee project where every possible trope and cliché is pumped into the script.
Like most of us I am forgiving and willing to suspend disbelief in an action series, event for a cringingly bad dialogue and plot. But the action here consists of innumerable foot chases and absurd shootouts that demonstrate no one here is credibly an "operative."
There is neither anything stimulating, nor is also not a single smart movement in the entire script. Not one.
Worse yet, Eva Green and. Vincent Cassel are deeply ill-used, frankly abused in this mess.

Good thriller with Eva Green and Vincent Cassel are pitted against each other.
Tensions between the nations are shown as contemporary and story line is engaging.
The director (Stephen Hopkins) is able to maintain the momentum to keep the suspense alive.
Eva Green is beautiful as ever. She emotes well, where melodrama is required.
Vincent Cassel is getting old and it is very evident. Most of the other characters are well etched and their performance is up to the mark.
Story, even though not very unique, helps to maintain the tempo. Saw 4 episodes and good going guys. Attractive locales in rural areas of France and London add charm to the story.

I've watched all the episodes so far and as the plot is unfolding, I'm finding the series more enjoyable. I agree that the first couple episodes were off to a rocky start, but it's definitely getting more interesting now. I personally really enjoy these types of shows, and let's be honest, Apple TV shows beat most Netflix dramas nowadays in terms of production value and acting. I say give the show a chance, get past the first couple more cliche episodes and you may wind up liking it. I think the plot will only continue to unravel and surprise us as more characters reveal who they really are and what side they're playing.
