To Avalon appears to be set in medieval times. The story centers primarily on a dialogue between two main characters: a wounded man seeking shelter and a woman from a nearby village who-perhaps rightfully-has some reservations about him. It seems they may hold differing views about the king.
Unfortunately, the story didn't fully open up to me, as much remained unexplained. There's too much missing information, and the mysterious ending didn't help clarify what the characters were truly saying or meaning.
I feel that this short film, with a runtime of less than five minutes, could serve as the beginning of something larger-perhaps a 20- to 30-minute film or more-but as it stands, it doesn't quite work on its own.
