Much like a Hallmark, this movie is a feel good, it has a likeable cast, great music, and a happy ending. It's a true family film. A great mix of veteran actors and breakout stars.
Acting was very bad, singing was also bad, scrolled from the 15min mark to the end. Gave it 3* ...one for C. Ladd and 2 for Darci, pity she didn't sing.
One of those movies that is so bad (in terms of script, acting, and overall production values) that it is almost ... good. Behind this Hallmark wannabe we have Cheryl Ladd as Producer. One of her lines of dialog, "I had my time to shine" may be a reference to her breakout role as a fully-binary self-identifying female player in the historic and unenlightened series "Charlies Angels" (1970). Also features a rare film role for reality-series breakout star Darci Lynn who is almost unrecognizable even among the small ensemble cast. This is the portion of the review where you would expect to hear that, whatever failings there are in the story, the music more than compensates? Well no, not really. The tunes are at best lackluster. Also, defying audience expectations, Darci Lynn will disappoint her fan base by never belting one out. On the other hand, Cheryl Ladd unexpectedly does a LOT of singing. It's that kind of film...

I found out about this movie from Darcy Lynne's post. I just watched it on Netflix. I loved the music. I liked that the acting was good. A lot of family friendly movies are poorly made due to the low budget, and you can tell. This movie did not have that low budget feel to it.
The movie starts with factual errors, then moves on to stilted acting. Then horror of horrors, Cheryl Ladd shows how not to act. I can't believe she is still on screen after all these years.
The dialogue is awful, the story old and tired, the acting appalling and tbh I could not make it right to the end. I felt so sorry for myself I wanted to put myself out of my misery by turning it off so I did.
Darci Lynne Farmer is the only bright spot of the movie I gave it 2 only cos of her. Shame we didn't hear her singing as she is fantastic. I wonder why that decision was made?
Lovely to see Darci making something of herself but apart from that, sheer torture. Give this a miss.

- GoofsThe first words spoken in the film are by Hailey narrating, and she says "My parents named me after Haileys comet." It is in fact Halley's comet, not Hailey's. She goes on to say she is a scientist now so she should know that.
