Thrilling horror short on a cinematic scale.

Road to Moloch is perhaps the best short film I've ever seen. It tells the story of three American soldiers in Iraq searching for missing brethren. They find a half-crazy Iraqi who leads them to a cave where they find something more horrifying than anything they could have imagined.

It's a tight, thrilling film that looks and feels like a feature. It's reminiscent of some of Neil Marshall's work and is equally effective on a much smaller budget. Very impressive.

If you enjoy movies like Dog Soldiers, The Descent and Aliens, you'll appreciate this short. By all means seek it out.

could've shouldve wouldve - been a feature

this was well done. it felt like a feature. even a big screen feature. an action packed horror feature.

the action was well done, hard, full of effects and gutsy resolve.

the quick pacing got you into it pretty quick, and i even felt for the characters.

the setting, lighting, and props felt bigger than a short on a budget. judging from the credits, these folks are already in the industry and know what their doing, and they did it.

the blood, gore, f/x, minimal cg, and makeup were tops.

good job.

Felt like i was watching a full feature film

Having just watched Eater 2007 the Duffer brothers (unfortunate name but unique lol and I like different, different is good!!!) should be given the chance to make a full movie if these are the results of their efforts as they are very well acted, produced, filmed and directed - Better in fact than most of the low budget rubbish and some high budget stuff coming out of Hollywood.

Solid 6.5 hatchets on the horror scale out of 10 for me on this one.
