Despite there being over 80 years of superman stories, this show seems determined to take a new spin on the beloved hero, and results in a fresh, colorful world for new and old superhero fans alike to take hold of. Without taking away from what makes Superman so very special. The Japanese/American art style is a breath of fresh air from the seemingly more rigid animation from the likes of Superman the animated series and that universe (even if it may not share the very same quality and love that those shows did). I couldn't quite tell what the age demographic for a show like this is, as it is made by adult swim, but the fun bright theme of the show should allow all ages to thoroughly enjoy this fun show.
My Adventures with Superman does an excellent job of inventing the Man of Steel for a new audience. The anime inspirations make it visually unique and give it the opportunity to design epic battles in an already detailed world. The redesigns of some popular villains were all fresh and creative, while still maintaining an air of familiarity. Given the short runtime and episode count, there isn't much time to breath or build on specific scenes, but with the time it has, the team behind it do a fantastic job at building on the relationships around Clark. The voice actors come together in a way that feels like they are in the room with you and their louder than life expressions and attitude blend perfectly with the dramatic anime styling. Between Superman & Lois, My Adventures with Superman, and the anticipation of Superman: Legacy, being a Superman fan has never been better!!
I saw both of these premiers on Max and I was very pleased. Great animation, talented voice acting and it brings back the great memories of Batman: The Animated Series, Superman: The Animated Series, Teen Titans, Justice League and The Brave And The Bold. This is a great start to yet another success for Adult Swim ( since it first airs on there network ), with other Amazing shows like Smiling Friends and Unicorn Warriors, plus with adult swim's new 6:00 time slot featuring the cartoon cartoon Friday shows like Dexter's Lab, Courage and Ed, Edd, Eddy. This new Superman show will fit great here and I know Superman fans will love it just as much as I did.
There's only three episodes as of my writing this. But I am so excited to see Superman at his beginning!
Clark starting at The Planet at the same time as Lois and Jimmy is a perfect setup. They all get to grow together. Each of our main trio is unique and I'm looking forward to watching their character arcs as the show continues. I especially like the dynamic they've set up between Lois and Clark. It's perfect!
On another note, I absolutely love the animation style! It's different from what we've had before with other DC animated projects. The anime influence is obvious, but it's a fun change for the superhero.

It seems that the show may be challenging for individuals who are not familiar with watching anime. However, for those who are well-versed in the genre, there are numerous reasons to appreciate it. The series incorporates all the signature anime elements and conventions, which are often cherished by fans. In terms of content, the first two episodes serve as a strong introduction, and it is highly likely that subsequent episodes will only improve upon this foundation. I found the voice acting to be very pleasing, and the character design is also noteworthy. Overall, the show has the potential to captivate and engage viewers, especially those who are already fans of anime and Superman, this new representation really is a breath of fresh air for the character.

- TriviaCreators take inspiration on Superman (1978), particularly Christopher Reeve and Margot Kidder's chemistry. "We loved their chemistry; we loved how smart and feisty Lois was, and loved the heart and altruism of Reeve's Superman / Clark Kent. The movie was clever, fun, and modernized Superman in a way that felt organic to the time period, while also respectful of what came before. It truly is one of our favorite pieces of Superman media."
