Pretty fine intro to the terrorist attack, but nothing more

It's fine as it goes over the events. So we know how the terrorists arrived and who and what they attacked. It's a very short intro to the terrorist attack, but nothing more. While we get a few interviews and shots from the attacks it's very lacking on info. We are not told about anything post the attack. What changed? Who got sued? Did India change their police forces or can it still take 3 days to attack and kill 2 terrorists who are randomly strolling inside a hotel and killing people? Did the police get better guns that are not 100 years old? If nothing has changed 2 terrorists can still take over a hotel and kill people for days. That's surely not ideal.

In the documentary we see the cops use riffles that you need to reload. One jammed as a cop grabbed it from another cop and tried to shoot at a terrorist. The police had no plan, no motivation, no ruleset, no clear leadership, few good weapons, no bravery. Mostly they just stood around and waited for 3 days. Yet none of this is explored. We only hear about the attacks, but not why they were allowed to go on. 3 good Western gunmen could have went around Mumbai and killed all these mediocre terrorists in just hours. You can take any Western special force soldier and he alone would probably take down all these terrorists if given the job and went carefully about it.

I guess that's the fascinating part. It's always curious how in undeveloped countries a few uneducated terrorists can be allowed to stroll around a big city for days with no one even bothering them. Yet in the documentary we do see Indian police with pretty modern 80's riffles too and a few guns that are not revolvers. Weapons that can decimate the terrorists if the police knew how to use them as they have various tools to help them out and thousands of police men. Especially riffles with scopes are so easy to use that you can kill anyone from a longe range.

None of this is explored. We also don't hear anything about the leaks media had where they just sent out live images and interviews from the attack meaning that the terrorists always had all the info they needed to find survivors or plan their attacks. This at least changed a great deal post the attack in India. But no one knows if the media will do better next time because there hasn't been such an attack again. Maybe they will still send out locations of survivors and whatnot. Or maybe not. The documentary leaves this whole topic unexplored.

    Tragic face of terrorism

Watching this was painful so many poor innocent people lost their lives because of terrorists cultivated in Pakistan, thick simple minded boys fooled into believing these heinous action would take them to heaven. What's clear is these simpletons only got lucky due to the inadequacy of the police and their facilities which were inadequate to deal with this type of terrorism. Hopefully lessons to be learnt here about better equipping the police on the ground. If only the commandos had got in earlier. A well made piece with never before seen footage and audio of the conversations that took place, hope to never see animals like this unleashed again 🙏
