On paper this very British young adult comedy is made up of so many familiar parts, but the writing is fresh, unpredictable and often riotously funny. The principal roles are perfectly cast - the housemates completely believable as former student friends growing in different directions, and the weirdness, grounded in familiar situations, seems completely natural. I quickly learned I could trust the writers to land each embarrassing situation so I could relax and enjoy the ride. A couple of familiar faces are reassuring but don't distract from the main characters. And whoever chose the music had a LOT of fun - the soundtrack is excellent. After the first run through I missed its company, so I watched it again.
We are rehoming a cat tomorrow, I'm sorely tempted to change his name. At least I'll get him a laser pointer.

The story of Jane, an ordinary woman in a world where everyone has superpowers. So she became the black sheep of society. Only her friends help her to find her own power.
This is the ultimate low-cost superhero series. Not focusing on showing power using CG at all, but focusing on selling dramatic stories, life issues in the world that reflect interestingly to the new generation in today's society. A little emotional And the most wicked comedy 18+ of the story invites you to laugh continuously from beginning to end. It's good enough for you to try and open it to watch (one episode is short, 25 minutes).

This is the kind of comedy we Brits have excelled at for the last 40 years.
Set in a world where at 18 most people inherit a super power, we follow Jen, a 25 year old who still hasn't been granted her power.
There are some cool and original powers in the series. Jen's best friend can channel the dead, her mum has the power to control Tech but has no clue how modern gadgets work and we meet a man who can 3D print items from his arse, graffiti artists who can walk on walls and a woman trapped in the body of a teenage girl.
Although the main plot is following Jen as she tries to fit in and find her ability, the show is filled with brilliant characters and great sight gags.
Full of toilet humour and sure to offend many it's truly funny.

I had to write a review about this show. It's just so great. I love everything about it. I was waiting for a light comedy and that's what it is. The writing is so well done, all the characters are so well written. For once I live all the characters, also the actors are all great. Live to see new faces and these guys are just nailing it. The plot is very good and you might think it's a superhero/xmen stuff but not really. I love the feel too, the wardrobe is very colorful too.
The format is also nice, I wish it was a hour long but this is okay. Looking forward to more, sometimes new ideas Pay off and this one is one of them.

It's good.
I'm just relieved to watch anything these days that isn't a spiteful pseudo moral lecture set to marginalise normal people. Extraordinary is extraordinary in so much as it is a new TV show that doesn't do the afore mentioned and is genuinely funny, accessible & touching.
Good work everybody.
The lead actress is wonderfully relatable & has a touch of screen magic about her.
I've only watched the first episode, but, I do hope this nugget of escapism continues in the vain it's set out in.
P. S. Like the aesthetic too. It has a touch of the 70s/80s about it. There's something nostalgic in the viewing.

- TriviaThe series has a reoccurring musical cue which is not an original composition for the show, but is actually a remixed instrumental of the song "Pepper" by the Butthole Surfers. The song is about societal criticism when being viewed by others and brushes with death. This ties back to the lead character Jen who is looked down upon for not having super powers and is told how they are going to die in the first episode.
- GoofsJizzlord is a male shape shifter, but when in cat form he presents as a black tortoiseshell. While male tortoiseshell cats can exist, they are rare (about 1 in 3,000 cats).
