Scrapped Justice League Scripts Reveals The Original Plan For The Dceu
As you may or may not know, Warner Bros. began working on a Justice League movie back in 2011, which was a few years before Man of Steel came out and kicked off the DC Extended Universe in proper fashion. Though it never got off the ground, a script was written by Will Beall and thanks to The Wrap, who got their hands on a copy of it, we now know what the studio’s original plan for the Dceu was.

As you’ll see down below, the script details what sounds like a pretty wild movie and a far cry from what we ended up getting. With 28 characters, time travel, an insane plot and more, we’re actually thankful that we got what we did instead, despite its problems, and after hearing about what Beall’s story involved, you’ll probably feel the same.

So, where to begin? Well, like we said above,...

Wonder Woman Storms To The Top Of The Box Office This Weekend
Though many would argue that Wonder Woman was a bonafide win for the DC Extended Universe even before it hit theatres, given its fantastic reviews and positive buzz, we really needed to wait for those all important box office numbers to roll in before the celebrations could commence. Now that they have, however, DC fans can feel free to breathe a sigh of relief, as Patty Jenkins’ blockbuster has scored a mighty impressive $100.5 million opening on home turf – which should have WB execs smiling from ear to ear.

Initial estimates put the Gal Gadot-led flick at around $75 million, so this is definitely a welcome surprise. It’s also a new record for the biggest opening by a female director, knocking Fifty Shades of Grey‘s $85.1 million off the top spot. Not only that, but Wonder Woman is now the 16th superhero movie ever to cross $100 million on its opening weekend.

The Big Bang Theory Season 10 Episode 21 Review: The Separation Agitation
Howard and Bernadette's baby is one of the best things to happen to The Big Bang Theory in a long time.

On The Big Bang Theory Season 10 Episode 21 they (along with Stuart, of course) struggle with taking Halley to daycare, and Bernadette feels especially guilty for going back to work.

It's funny the way they all handle it.

A trip to the zoo that makes Bernadette overly emotional, Howard and Stuart getting Halley out of daycare on her first day so they can take her to the aquarium, and Bernadette getting upset when Halley is the only one who isn't crying over the change.

But it's also important and real.

From the beginning of the pregnancy, Bernadette has struggled with the balance of wanting to be a mother and wanting to continue being successful in her career.

This is just another one of those hurdles. and I think it goes...

The Big Bang Theory Season 10 Episode 20 Review: The Recollection Dissipation
Believe it or not, even someone like Sheldon Cooper can work himself too hard.

On The Big Bang Theory Season 10 Episode 20, Sheldon tries to work on his project with Leonard and Wolowitz while also working with Amy, and he pushes himself to his breaking point.

Sure, it seems like Sheldon has a handle on it to begin with.

He bounces back and forth between each project, always showing up just in time to solve a problem. He even has a special backpack filled with water and lentil soup.

This the kind of challenge that Sheldon lives for, and in fact, I think he spent more time developing the plan to do so and putting together that backpack than he did actually helping with either project.

But hey, details.

There's one thing he doesn't consider with his plan, and that's how it will affect his immune system. It doesn't take long...

Rogue One Originally Included A Scene In Which Darth Vader Killed A Main Character
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story Gallery 1 of 77

More From The Web Click to zoom

As we prepare for the home video release of Gareth Edwards’ Rogue One: A Star Wars Story next month, we have another intriguing tidbit about one of the original drafts of the film’s script to share with you. Yesterday, we found out that both Jyn Erso and Cassian Andor were actually going to survive the events of the battle of Scariff at one point, but while those characters would have had a happier ending, another main player’s fate would have been considerably worse.

While speaking with EW, Gary Whitta – who wrote an early version of the script before it was redrafted – reveals that the villainous Director Krennic (Ben Mendelsohn) also made it off Scariff in one piece, but by the time a certain Dark Lord of The Sith caught up with him,...

Anthony Mackie Doesn’t Think There Will Be A Marvel Movie/TV Crossover
The Marvel Cinematic Universe is already a massive place, full to the brim with characters, but ever since the news first broke that the studio would be collaborating with Netflix for a series of TV shows based on some of the brand’s street-level heroes, fans have hoped to see some kind of crossover take place. Unfortunately, Marvel head honcho Kevin Feige has repeatedly played down any plans for the likes of Daredevil or Luke Cage to one day suit up with The Avengers, and now, Anthony Mackie (Falcon) has also weighed in on the matter as well.

During a recent interview with Screen Geek, the actor was adamant that combining the characters from the big and small screens simply “wouldn’t work.”

Different universes, different worlds, different companies, different designs. Kevin Feige is very specific about how he wants the Marvel Universe to be seen in the film world.

Iron Fist Star Wants A Heroes For Hire Spinoff With Luke Cage
Iron Fist Season 1 Gallery 1 of 29

Click to skip

More From The Web Click to zoom

This month, the final piece of The Defenders puzzle will fall into place as Marvel’s Iron Fist premieres on Netflix. The show will introduce Danny Rand to the world, and over the course of the 13 episodes, we’ll (presumably) see plans laid down for his inevitable team-up with Jessica Jones, Daredevil and Luke Cage. However, as Marvel Comics fans will no doubt be aware, Rand develops a much closer friendship with the unbreakable Power Man (Mike Colter) than he does with the other three.

In the source material, Luke Cage and Iron Fist join forces to form a separate team known as the Heroes for Hire, and it sounds like this is something former Game of Thrones alum, Finn Jones, would be interested in seeing play out on the small screen at some point.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi Theory Pegs Benicio Del Toro’s Character As Ezra Bridger
Blockbuster movie fan-theories are a dime a dozen, and Star Wars fan-theories are more prevalent than most – but every once in a while, one comes along that does warrant closer inspection. Such is the case with Redditor Darth Hodor’s (what a name) well thought-out Star Wars: The Last Jedi speculation regarding Benicio Del Toro’s new character.

Ever since it was announced that Del Toro had signed on for a role in the follow-up to The Force Awakens, fans have speculated about who he might be playing, but the only thing that’s been confirmed about his mysterious character thus far is that he’s an “intergalactic villain.” However, this theory proposes that he was a hero in his younger days, and one that’ll be very familiar to fans of Disney Xd’s Star Wars Rebels animated series.

Here are Hodor’s thoughts in full:

Simply put, I...

Looks Like We Might Have Our First Confirmed Cast Member For The Inhumans
As Marvel’s The Inhumans TV series prepares to begin shooting in Hawaii this month, we may have uncovered our first cast member. We found out a couple of weeks ago that Black Sails director Roel Reine would helm the 2-part IMAX pilot episode for ABC, and early this morning he Tweeted out an image of an IMAX camera test in preparation for the shoot. There’s nothing particularly interesting about that in and of itself, but the response from Canadian actress Elysia Rotaru has become grounds for a lot of speculation.

Rotaru, who has appeared in quite a few comic book-related TV shows in the past including Smallville, Arrow and iZombie, expresses her excitement and says she “can’t wait.”

This Is gonna be amazing @roelreine @IMAX @Marvel @MarvelStudios @theinhumans @ABCNetwork can't wait

— Elysia Rotaru (@elysiarotaru) January 30, 2017

Obviously, this doesn’t confirm that Rotaru has joined the cast, but...

Donnie Darko Director Outlines Plans For A Sequel
15 years after the release of Richard Kelly’s beguiling original, the director has announced that he has plans for a follow-up to Donnie Darko, and he’s promising “something much bigger and more ambitious to do in that universe.”

Though there’s nothing official in the works at this point, Kelly seemed pretty confident that he’ll be able to get something off the ground (eventually) during an interview with HMV to promote a 4K restoration of the first film that was just released on Blu-ray:

It’s big and expensive and I think there’s time to get to that. I want to make sure we’ve got the budget to do it justice and not to compromise anything. Another story in this world needs resources and we need to have that in place. I need to get my next film out of the gate and then we can...

There's A Lot Of Meh In This First Trailer For Sony Pictures Animation's The Emoji Movie
So yeah... this is a thing. Below you'll find the first trailer for Sony's The Emoji Movie, which features the voice talents of Deadpool's T.J. Miller, late night talk show host James Corden, and Broad City star Ilana Glazer among others. In it, the "Meh" emoji (standup comedian Steven Wright) introduces himself and promotes the movie in a very enthusiastic manner. I guess this is mildly amusing stuff, and to be fair, nobody thought The Lego Movie would amount to much and that was one of the funniest movies of the last few years. Will we be giving The Emoji Movie a chance? Be sure to share your thoughts in the comments. Directed by Anthony Leondis with an original screenplay co-written by Eric Siegel, The Emoji Movie has a release date of August 4, 2017.

NCIS Season 14 Episode 8 Review: Enemy Combatant
I guess it goes without saying that getting a flat tire in the middle of the night on an isolated road definitely can't be good.

Though the unfortunate Commander Reza ended up worse off than the random motorists in NCIS Season 14 Episode 8, which featured a couple red herrings, plus three extremely nosy Bishop brothers.

So, a show of hands: who predicted the identity of Bishop's boyfriend before the Big Reveal at the end?

Confession time here: I have four siblings. However, not a one of them are anywhere near as nosy (bordering on obsessive stalking) as Bishop's brothers, for which I am very grateful. That's not to say that people like that don't exist, or are even unrealistic, or anything.

Viewers have pointed out previously Bishop's rather, shall we say, gossip-mongering tendencies. Her brothers definitely shared the trait, relentlessly badgering her coworkers in an attempt to discover the identity of her boyfriend.

Transformers: The Last Knight IMAX Featurette Offers Up A First Look At King Arthur And More
There have been rumblings about a teaser trailer for Transformers: The Last Knight for a while now, but it won't be attached to Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. Set to be released on June 23rd next year, Transformers: The Last Knight will feature the return of Mark Wahlberg as Cade Yeager as well as new roles for Isabela Moner and Jerrod Carmichael. With Bay back in the director’s chair, the screenplay for the movie was written by Iron Man's Art Marcum and Matt Holloway along with Ken Nolan (Black Hawk Down). Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s Gabriel Luna Says Ghost Rider Spinoff Being Discussed
Ghost Rider fans were skeptical when it was announced that the the Spirit of Vengeance was going to be adapted for the small screen and make his debut on the fourth season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., but as the series continues, Robbie Reyes and his fiery passenger are definitely emerging as major highlights in most viewer’s eyes. So much so that a lot of fans are now clamoring for the character to be given his own spinoff.

Up until now we haven’t had any indication that something like that might be on the cards, but during an interview with ComicBook.com, actor Gabriel Luna confirmed that the idea has been kicked around at Marvel:

“It’s been talked about, there’s definitely deals in place for that potential. But I just take it one day at a time. I have so much fun now I just want to...

Is James Gunn Teasing An Appearance From Thor In Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2?
The mid-credits scene of Thor: The Dark World showed that the Asgardians aren't oblivious to the other alien species and worlds in the galaxy when Volstagg and Sif met up with the Collector (Benicio del Toro), who would go on to appear in Guardians of the Galaxy. We know that Chris Pratt will reprise his role as Star-Lord in Avengers: Infinity War, so how exactly does Star-Lord know to make his way back to Earth to fight alongside the Avengers? It looks like Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 director James Gunn might be teasing the answer. Gunn recently took to his Facebook page and posted an image of himself on the set of the Marvel sequel while holding Thor's (Chris Hemsworth) hammer, Mjolnir. This could easily be Gunn having fun on set, but he could just as easily be teasing a cameo from the God of Thunder. Be sure to share...

Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season Finale Clip Continues To Tease The #FallenAgent
Next Tuesday sees the two-hour season finale of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and ever since the opening scene from one of the first season 3 episodes, we’ve known to expect a major character death. That shot clearly showed an unidentified Agent on a space shuttle of some kind, bleeding out at zero gravity while a crucifix chain floated nearby.

We later discovered that the cross belonged to new recruit Yo-Yo Rodriguez, but after forming a connection with Mack, the Inhuman speedster passed it onto him. If you thought that was an indication that Mr. Mackenzie was going to be the #FallenAgent, you might want to hold your horses, because in the sneak peek above he returns the cross to its original owner, Yo-Yo.

I have a feeling this might be a bit of misdirection, as after all of this back and forth it’d be far too obvious if...

The New Trailer For Duncan Jones' Warcraft Is Here

Abrams Explains Why Leia Snubbed Chewbacca In 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens'
*This Post Is A Spoiler Discussion About Something That Occurred In Star Wars: The Force Awakens*

Boy, oh boy. I didn't even know this was a thing!

Apparently, some folks have made a stink about the fact that in Star Wars: The Force Awakens General Leia (Carrie Fisher) hugged Rey (Daisy Ridley) instead of Chewbacca (Peter Mayhew) when they returned to the Resistance base after destroying Starkiller Base. Some saw it as a slight against Chewie, with whom Leia has a longer relationship, and who is likely reeling from the death of his best friend, Han Solo (Harrison Ford). To fans who picked up on that, it was a head-scratcher that Leia would show more emotion consoling Rey- a relative stranger- than Chewie.

/Film had a chance to ask director J.J. Abrams about that moment, in a chat meant to talk up his latest production 10 Cloverfield Lane. Here's what Abrams...

Sacha Baron Cohen Talks About Why He Left the ‘Freddie Mercury’ Biopic
All things end when the band breaks up.

In this case, it’s over a disagreement with the surviving members of the band.

In an interview with Howard Stern, Sacha Baron Cohen explained on how he left Freddie Mercury movie over creative difference with members of the British band.

Cohen cited the difference was over Mercury’s death from AIDS.

A member of the band believed the story is great, because “an amazing thing that happens in the middle of the movie…Freddie dies.” And then the band continues on without the singer.

However, Cohen disagrees.

“Listen, not one person is going to see a movie where the lead character dies from AIDS and then you carry on," he told the band.

The band kept with the rejections of movie ideas after bringing on screenwriter Peter Morgan (The Queen, Frost/Nixon) and directors David Fincher (Gone Girl, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo...

Disney Offers First Real Preview Of 'Star Wars: Rogue One'
Disney just held a meeting for its shareholders where it showcased its films for the year. Included was a look at LucasFilm's Star Wars: Rogue One. The film, directed by Gareth Edwards (Godzilla) will be a standalone story that takes place between Episode III and Episode IV.

Here's what Disney's Bob Iger said to the room before showing a very brief sizzle reel. Note how he specifies exactly where it fits in the timeline:

It’s our first original standalone Star Wars story. It’s about a band of rebels who are plotting to steal the plans for the Death Star. The action takes place right before the events in the very first Star Wars movie, Episode IV, which was called A New Hope. And I can’t wait for you to see it, it’s in theaters this December.

They then showed a little something to help whet the appetite of its shareholders.

Included in the clips shown was a sequence we haven't yet seen from Marvel's Captain America: Civil War. The scene offers a hint as to how the plot plays out, and how the characters interact with one another as tensions mount.

Beware, this is all a *Spoiler* for the film. Only read on if you don't mind knowing how things unfold:

The clip started off with a car chase featuring a motorcycle and a black Audi SUV. The chase involved Captain America, Black Panther, Bucky Barnes, and Falcon. They pursued each other through a tunnel, which became engulfed in explosions generated by the skirmish.Eventually, the characters emerged from the tunnel, only to be met by War Machine. It appeared as though he was on the scene to detain Captain America.

Will Henry Cavill Appear in "Suicide Squad" or "Wonder Woman" as Superman?
Comic Book Resources posted a recent interview with Superman himself, Henry Cavill, via Brazilian magazine, Superinteressante, where the actor was asked if he will cameo in any future DC films before "Justice League: Part One", which include David Ayer's "Suicide Squad" with Will Smith and Jared Leto or Patty Jenkins "Wonder Woman" starring Gal Gadot and Chris Pine.

Cavill said, "Not in 'Suicide Squad." The actor added, "In 'Wonder Woman,' I haven't heard anything yet, but watch that space. And in anything else, I don’t know just yet if anything else gets shot between."

"Suicide Squad" seems a bit out of Cavill's range as the villains teaming up for the film have ties to Ben Affleck's Batman; who has small role in the film where he confronts the Joker (Jared Leto) and Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie) while on a car chase.

It would be...

To unravel the secret of Batgirl’s bizarre new nemesis, her friends must travel to strange and uncharted territory: the inside of Barbara Gordon’s spectacular mind!

Review:

Cameron Stewart and Brenden Fletcher take us on a really wild and trippy adventure as we explore warped moments of Barbara Gordon’s memories. The villain of the arc, Fugue, has managed to get inside Barbara’s head and is stealing her secrets with plans to sell them to her enemies. While there is some fun here with great art by the various contributors (each getting a moment based on the memory), I just wasn’t pulled into this story.

Superman's Throat Meets Batman's Boot in New 'Batman V Superman' Image
A new image for Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice has dropped via the Comedy Central Instagram account. I know, a match made in heaven. The image features Batman planting his foot smack-dab on the boy in blue's throat.

This is kinda different to the whole "my hand at your throat" philosophy that Batman famously took into their classic fight in the Frank Miller story, but his point still stands.

All I want to know is how Superman's hair seems to stay so clean and sharp even though he's laying on the ground in some rundown building.

He truly is an alien.

Check out the photo below.

Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice will hit theaters on March 25, 2016.

No Green Lantern Until 'Justice League 2', Maybe
Entertainment Weekly got to go behind the scenes of the DC Cinematic Universe, and was able to get the lowdown on why we haven't heard any mention of Green Lantern recently. Simply put, it's going to be a while before we see him on screen again.

Here's what producer Greg Silverman had to say:

"[Green Lantern] is an incredible character. He’s actually multiple incredible characters. There’s real opportunity there. We didn’t do a great job on that first Green Lantern movie. This is a character who deserves to be treated in the same way that Batman and Superman and Wonder Woman are being treated now, which is with great reverence. I guess I can say to the Green Lantern fans: if they can be patient with us, I think they’ll be really happy.”

Producer adds:

“Every beat of the movie is not yet worked out. So there’s...

Jena Malone Was Cut From The 'Batman v Superman' Theatrical Release
I'm still not sure how I feel about man R-rated Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice. It worked when Fox released and R-rated cut of The Wolverine, but the character lends itself to the more graphic violence language. Batman? Maybe. Superman? Definitely not.

My feelings aside, there will be a more violent and brutal R-rated cut of Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice when it hits Blu-ray, and it will also have someone in it who was cut from the PG-13 theatrical release: Jena Malone.

Yes, Malone's scenes were cut, but will be added back in for the Ultimate Edition. That makes one wonder why her scenes were cut in the first place? We're they too violent and the cuts were necessary to secure a more family friendly rating? If so, does this give us a clue as to which character she's playing?

What do you think?

'Power Rangers' Director Talks Story, Cast, and Costumes of New Adaptation
While many of us may have warm and fuzzy memories of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers of the 1990s, it's definitely worth nothing that since that time, there hasn't been a year when the TV hasn't been graced with a new Power Rangers series. Though despite the fact that the franchise has been around as long as it has, most folks are most excited for (and admittedly a bit bewildered and confused by) the upcoming film adaptation of the long-running series.

The movie, entitled Saban's Power Rangers, has been mostly shrouded in secret until this point. Sure, we've had a few cast reveals, though with the exception of Elizabeth Banks, there wasn't really anyone recognizable.

But in a recent interview with director Dean Israelite, Entertainment Weekly gives readers the first real details regarding the film.

The first image of our leads in Saban's Power Rangers.

For those who remember the pilot of the original series,...

Viral Site Takes You Inside the New Proton Packs in 'Ghostbusters'
Today marked another day when audiences were given a blast from the past in the form of the first trailer for the Ghostbusters reboot, which is directed by Paul Feig and stars Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones, and Chris Hemsworth.

In addition to the trailer, however, Sony also launched a viral site for the film called Paranormal Studies Lab. On the site, the filmmakers take you behind the scenes of Ghostbusters, giving you an inside look at the very thing that makes the Ghostbusters the Ghostbusters: the proton pack!

In the video, particle physicist James Maxwell, who worked as a consultant on the film, goes into agonizing detail about what makes the proton pack kick, and how it differs from the one seen in the original film back in the 1980s.

While the proton pack is a definite highlight of the site, it also gives us...

Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. Clip Revisits Simmons’ Harrowing Dimension Jump
At least, that’s what we assume happened to Agent Simmons when she was engulfed by that alien monolith in the closing moments of the season 2 finale of Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. Different dimension; another planet; it really doesn’t matter – the point is, poor Jemma (Elizabeth Henstridge) was gone for almost 6 months, and probably had to endure some unimaginable hardships to survive.

Next Tuesday’s installment, “”4,722 Hours,” promises to fill in some of the gaps and give us an insight into those hardships, but in this first sneak peek from the episode, we pick up right after Simmons disappeared from earth and re-emerged on the mysterious blue world. Ever the scientist, she calmly surveys the area, safe in the knowledge that Fitz will do everything he can to rescues her.

Which he does… y’know, eventually.

Tell us, where do you think Simmons was transported to? Why do you think...

Hunger Games Teaser Image Accidentally Includes The C-Word
As you can see, the way a section of the second "0" in 100 is removed to accommodate the "U" in "until" makes it look like this teaser banner is emblazoned with the word... well, it's not exactly subtle so we're sure you can make it out. The Tweet was apparently hastily deleted once this was brought to their attention, but nothing can ever really be erased from the internet (just ask Josh Trank) and this screencap was posted by THR. Not exactly news, but hey, it's a slow Sunday evening and this gave us a chuckle. Can you think of any similar marketing faux pas that've occured over the years? Be sure to share the evidence in the usual place.

Spoilers: This Original Member Of The X-men Will Be Outed As Being Gay Tomorrow
Well, this is an unexpected development! Despite the fact that his present day counterpart isn't gay, Iceman's younger self is according to the following scans from tomorrow's issue of All-New X-Men (via Bleeding Cool). Perhaps Bobby Drake has been keeping his homosexuality to himself for all these years or circumstances led to him just not being gay in the Marvel Universe timeline, but this is a plot development which makes little to no sense. On the other hand, there have been hints over the years that Iceman may be interested in guys, so perhaps this will lead to the older version coming out at some point too. Be sure to share your thoughts on this development below!

Intriguing Title Revealed For Arrow's Season Three Finale
We've seen Oliver Queen decked out in League of Assassins gear in an upcoming episode of The Flash, but if that chronologically takes place before Arrow's season three finale, what are the chances that this title refers to the Starling City vigilante shedding his new "Ra's al Ghul" identity and going back to his usual self? Alternatively, it could be that he reveals his identity to the city, but this is all obviously speculation at this point. Be sure to share your thoughts and theories below...
