    Amazing Episode

This episode was so well done. The end of the episode was so touching. Not a lot happened during this episode regarding action but one of the most life changing stories I've ever seen. Love this series. Also the acting is phenomenal. Im.

Best of the season so far!

Episode 3 has really struck something special! Everything came together in some beautiful ways to make this one of the best episodes of the series so far!

I love the dynamics of each character being brought to the forefront. Tensions are rising and the story is setting up for some amazing moments to come. The actors are at their peak with emotional and lengthy monologues.

The cinematography is stunning as well. If you're interested, the story of the opening 15-minute shot just adds to the beauty of this episode.

Falling in love with this show more and more each episode!

    Too slow paced

I' m new to this series. I love proper drama, without too much violence or sex. Other recent series set in biblical or Roman times had too much violence for my taste. The Chosen is the opposite, some scènes are to slow, certainly for today s audiences. What I like are the scenes that show the familiar stories from a different perspective. Like the story in the first episode of season 2. About the man who attacked the Samaritan. The characters haven't impressed me much yet. Perhaps to the rather subdued type of acting. I like the character of Matthew being portrayed as autistic. Maybe if the creators finish this series they can try to adapt the famous Christian novel, the Pilgrims progress. As far as I know thats never been done with real actors. There is only a animated film made some years ago.

Will enrich your understanding of Jesus

What happens between the lines of the Scriptures. Jesus tires to the point of exhaustion. The Apostles joke, argue, handle logistics. The humanity of each Apostle is developed, as is the humanity of Jesus.

Most religious themed movies present the Scriptures word for word. The result can be dry or preachy. This is different. Way, way different.

This series has deepened my faith like no other.

Blasphemy against the Mother of God

This episode blasphemes the perpetual virginity of Mary the Mother of God. The perpetual virginity was denied by none of the Church Fathers, nor Christians for 1000+ years. That's a 1 out of 10 from me. Quite enjoy the show, but when lines are added in that directly contradict the truth, that I don't enjoy.

It also has Mary saying she doubted whether Jesus was the son of God.... The same Mary who had an angel appear to her and tell her so... I guess the first error I mentioned allows you to believe the second one. And that is why the importance of the truth is important.

I have not rated the show itself down for this, only this particular episode.

    • Trivia
The title of the episode is "Matthew 4:24" which is a direct biblical reference with chapter and verse, the first such title in the show's history. The events in the episode transpire in light of what is described in the biblical Matthew's account: "So His fame spread throughout all Syria, and they brought Him all the sick, those afflicted with various diseases and pains, those oppressed by demons, those having seizures, and paralytics, and He healed them."
