I don't understand the negative reviews. It's a nice coming of age story that doesn't try and force a love triangle, I remember being that age and having lots of crushes. I think it's trying to show how quickly things can change with your relationships as a teen. I like the strong friendships shown too. Hate the comments about the actresses teeth, why force everyone to have capped, whitened teeth? The main actress looks lovely. It was nice to showcase a young cast who managed to play their characters well. Yes there were cheesy parts but that's half the fun. Would definitely recommend for fans of the movie or romance/coming of age stories.
The polarizing reviews have been... interesting. I liked "XO, Kitty" quite a bit. I think it's relatable enough; it fairly captures the uncertainty and chaos surrounding teenage love, even though the series might feel all over the place sometimes. It maintains the charm of the movies and possesses lush and beautiful cinematography and sets - it's satisfying to watch in that way. I think the acting is okay, nothing special. I was initially concerned about character depth (given the show's fast pace), but even though some might feel one-sided, it never felt like I didn't know them. The 'plot twist' surprised me but I'm on the fence about it because it isn't thoroughly justified. While I also commend the writers for avoiding certain cliches they totally could've gone with, the script isn't without its qualms. The unrelenting miscommunication between characters bothered me and started to feel like decisions to further the plot. Overall, I thought it was entertaining enough. It's decent popcorn television (much like everything else from the TATBILB franchise). I've loved the characters so far, and I loved meeting new characters. I wouldn't mind seeing them again.
If you're looking for a well put together show like breaking bad or GOT yeah you're going to hate it.
It's totally unbelievable and corny but so cute and so fun. The show depicts the exact genre it's trying to. If you like sex lives of college girls, the summer I turned pretty, heartstopper, trinkets, on my block, or kdramas I mean you've come to the right place.
Light hearted fun and lovely characters. It's exactly what it was supposed to be and delivered.
Drove me nuts they are In south korea and all speak english but it is what it is and I will still watch any future seasons of it.
Here is my remaining 15 characters needed.

I deserve more. I loved the characters but kitty she just went around and fell in love with everyone tf. Well anyways it was good which i wasn't expecting it to be. Minho is so funny. I really enjoyed. It was funnier than expected and it felt like real people interacting and a story that could happen. A bit romanticized obviously and a lot of coincidences that wouldn't happen in real life but i liked the characters depth and how they felt like humans and not so black and white one is evil one is good. Minho was the best thing from the story really. Kitty was my less favorite but she was okay too i guess.
This tv series tries to cram as much drama into 10 episodes as possible and by cramming so much in, it fails to explore any of the characters and themes in a meaningful way. A prime example of this is the love pentagon, with Kitty (the female lead) jumping around from crush to crush, making it difficult to connect with any of her romantic counterparts.
If the series had focused primarily on one or two main themes like Kitty's connection with her mother or her relationship, the series would have emotional substance but instead it comes across as a bottom of barrel rom com that Netflix mass produces.
