    the series?

I am not sure that the series doesn't just use snippets of the original show, I have seen some episodes where I think I saw the same thing on the show. It is entertaining, and shouldn't be taken too seriously. I have a problem, as many have already argued, that the scenario for the absence of humans is not given any thought. Therein lies the problem with the show and series, you can't really speculate on what happens the hour, week, month after people if you don't explain what happened to neutralize humans around the world at the same time. If we do become extinct, it would more likely be phased out. Anything drastic enough to destroy us all would certainly destroy other forms of life too. Anyway, sometimes when channel surfing, this is about the best thing on, and worth a watch or two.

First 2 seasons great..season three meh

Loved first two seasons but the new seasons have lousy CG and AI. It is so fake looking. The dogs don't even look right when they show them eating...how hard could that be to do right? Sad to drop the quality so much from the original. And, they are claiming catastrophic changes in just a couple of weeks. In the first seasons it took years for building collapses. So far I am disappointed in the new version.

    Gets Boring Quickly

An interesting concept of how the earth would look if all humans disappeared and the planet went back to its natural state, unimpeded by the modifications of man. It quickly went from very interesting to mildly interesting to boring and repetitive to not even worth finishing. It only took a couple of episodes to get it: internal systems fail, buildings start to break down, nature creeps back in, once mighty structures crumble, etcetera etcetera and so on until not a trace of man's existence remains. The first time it was a great watch but then every other episode was variations on a theme. We didn't even bother watching the last few episodes and skipped series 2 altogether.

    Same things over and over

I used to like NGC. However, all of their shows and simulations are the same over and over. They inject CC into everyone of their shows.

The narrator on this show is also annoying. I think he is similar to many of NGC shows. A narrator is fine... but it shouldn't be involved in 50% of the show... and emphasizing every other word gets really annoying.

The simulations are awful, even when the shows were made. I think it is more comical than knowledgeable.

If you watch the shows, you will see repetitive simulations on each show.

There are much better ways to learn about the universe, science and out planet. NGC always slides CC into the conversation.

    Sad...

Urban Myth Passed Off As Scientific Fact

Nine minutes in to the very first episode, one of the experts shares an anecdote about an explorers club in 1950 cooking up the frozen carcass of the long-extinct mammoth. It is presented, without question, as an actual true event to help illustrate how long flesh can survive for in the right conditions.

Except, this never happened. It was a hoax by the chef. A sample of the meal was subsequently tested and shown to be sea turtle. The myth though, still persists and this show has tried to turn that myth into scientific fact.

So my question is: if, in the first 9 minutes of a 20 episode show they make this glaring error / lie, then what else that they present as fact is also nonsense?

It completely destroyed any credibility this show had. Shame, because the subject matter itself is fascinating
