A fine movie of its times. Bharati is a distant cousin of GG . She loses her own family and starts living with his family . Slowly steadily she wins all hearts. She start loving GG silently .
When they come of age ,his parents too want her to be his bride and ask his opinion.
He refuses saying he has always thought of her as his sister.
Dejected Bharati swallows her feelings and acts normal.
Meanwhile GG comes in contact with Kanchana her friend.
Love blossoms between them and they get married with his parents' approval shortly .
Sadly , she has a past which comes to haunt her .
When she was in the hostel she had met Muthuraman . Unknown to her he was a play boy and a predator . After acting innocent and in love with her , she had started writing some love letters to him .
He had done that with many women . Kanchana was not aware of this . Once she realised this , she had left him and married GG .
He now comes back to haunt her with those letters .
Bharati comes to know this and tries to help Kanchana . She does not want her life with GG to be spoilt in any manner .
A lot of cat and mouse games happens between Bharati and Muthuraman. She bears all his tantrums quitely .
In the end , he digs his own grave . Both GG And Kanchana get back to their lives and Bharati gets out of their way .
A fine movie shot in lush green locales of Ooty.
Their simple sarees, their hair styles are all reminds us of the late 60s . Muthuraman is likeable in his short role as a nasty villain .
GG is the master of all emotions as the only prodigal son . Both Kanchana and Bharati are slim and simple .
Over all a fine family fare.
