After short-tempered trickster Monkey King is insulted while visiting a temple with his master Tang Monk, he destroys a magical tree and accidentally releases the ancient King of Demons, who kidnaps Tang Monk as revenge for his long imprisonment. Now, Monkey King and his fellow disciples must rescue their master within three days, before the Demon King regains his full power and unleashes his armies to destroy the earth.

Quite enjoyable.

Except for the facts that characters are a little bit ugly and they didn't explain how Tang Seng came back to life, the rest of things are fine and enjoyable. Some of the scenes made me cried. It was kind of touching. So, yeah, it was kind of good.

Really amazing design and voice acting.

It's so much better then the creepy nonsense we are getting from places like Disney right now.

Bright beautiful and clear designs, compelling story, and really all I can say is I want more.

I actually cried a little when watching it. If you have kids, watch it together, if you dont, watch it anyhow. I guess Im coming up on the annoying character mandate, So I guess I have to talk about something else, so the music score was adorable, Pigsy was adorable, the little Vital Spirit was adorable, the Buddha was an annoying tyrannical dude, while still totally benign and good, which is kind of how I pictured him...

Another great Chinese animation

Thought this was a sequel to 2015's 'Monkey King: Hero is Back' purely based on Monkey's look in those two films, but not sure now.

Anyway, having watched Ne Zha, Ne Zha Reborn, White Snake and White Snake 2, I'm hooked on these Chinese big budget animation epics now and this carries on that strong tradition.

If you loved those films and just bonkers, action packed, colourful characters, with enormous scale and beautiful animation, then Monkey King Reborn won't disappoint.

Predictable/watchable

Good animation, excellent score, a you seen it once you seen them all story of good vs evil martial arts yada yada yada. Predictable and yet watchable popcorn. Watch once and enjoy.
