I've been watching the trailer on repeat since it first dropped, and after finally seeing the full movie, I can honestly say it exceeded all my expectations. What stood out to me the most was the way it explored the theme of self-acceptance. The characters aren't perfect-they make mistakes, they have fears, and they face struggles-but that's what makes them so real and relatable. The film reminds us that it's okay to be flawed, and that we don't need to hide our insecurities from the people who care about us. Vulnerability isn't weakness-it's a kind of strength. And sometimes, showing our true selves, even the parts we think are "too much," is exactly what helps us grow and connect more deeply with others.
The music was another huge highlight for me. Every song was super catchy and I've already added several tracks to my Spotify playlist. I also loved the performance scenes-they were dynamic, visually stunning, and full of personality.
Visually, the film is breathtaking. The character designs, costumes, and animation are all so detailed and vibrant. You can clearly see the love and effort that went into every frame. Each character has a distinct style that reflects their personality, and the fusion of K-pop aesthetics with demon-hunting action creates a world that feels both exciting and immersive.
And I can't forget to mention the "enemies to lovers" subplot-it had me hooked from the start! That kind of dynamic is one of my favorites, and this one was done so well. The chemistry, the tension, the emotional payoff... it gave me all the feels. I laughed, I teared up, and I was totally invested in their journey. By the end, I was left wanting more-and honestly, I really hope there's a sequel on the way.

I walked into this expecting flashy visuals and a few catchy songs. I walked out emotionally wrecked, fully converted, and desperately trying to find the soundtrack.
This film is everything. The acting is next-level; every performance feels lived-in, even with all the genre craziness. These aren't just idols fighting demons, they're friends, sisters, legends in the making. I cared about every single one of them, which made every twist hit that much harder. The writing balances emotional depth with pop-culture fun. There are genuine character arcs, sharp humor, and moments of real heartbreak. It doesn't rely on tropes, it plays with them, elevates them. And the music. My god, the MUSIC. Not just earworms, these tracks are woven into the story. A power ballad becomes a battle cry. A training montage becomes a music video. A finale turns into a full-blown pop opera. It's genius.
Stylish, heartfelt, funny, fierce, and totally original. This isn't just a movie, it's a whole vibe. I'll be thinking about it (and rewatching it) for a long time.

The movie offers a great explanation and reassurance that your insecurities and your mistakes do not make you who you are. It has some of the best twists I've seen in a long time. It allows a great look into Korean pop culture and the songs not only help with the plot but also aren't a typical Disney song. The animation is stunning and beautiful. My only complaint is the lip sinc for some of the songs don't quite match up but to have a complete original movie that can be enjoyed by all audiences and never lags in plot, storytelling, or animation is what makes this movie so great. Also this movie took 9 years to make. People have put their blood, sweat, and tears into it. I just wish it was more available on other platforms.
I never like Kpop, to be honest. I only hear some hit songs while shopping and I don't even know how many people are there in BTS or Black pink...
But! This film totally wins my heart!
I mean, come on! Demon Hunters + Pop stars! Who doesn't love this?
The story is super simple, simple and could be a bit cliché. But the music production is totally on top level.
Even for a person like who is so unfamiliar with Kpop could tell the tune.
Overall, the film is quite short, no fuss, really suitable for this type of action animations.
It doesn't spend looong time to explain all the details but that's the whole point! People are shouting out for sequels online now, unlike the recent Disney style which makes audiences beg for No More Useless Sequels!
I'd like to thank the production team brought back something we've been missing for a long time: MAKE YOUR POINT.
Sometimes that's what all a good film needs.
I'm not looking forward to any sequels because this one is classic!

KPop Demon Hunters (2025) is a new Netflix animated movie that I didn't know what to think of it when I first heard about it, but I decided to give it a chance and I had a great time with this movie.
Positives for KPop Demon Hunters (2025): First off, the idea for this movie is very interesting where it feels like a combination of Demon Slayer mixed with Sailor Moon and that is exactly what you get with this movie. The animation style for this movie is awesome and it gives the movie a unique feel to it. The voice cast does an excellent job with their performances and I really enjoyed the chemistry between the three main woman as they feel like real friends who like to kick major demon ass and sing together. I also liked the three male characters that our heroes are in competition with when it comes to their music and it creates this competition between the two teams that is fun to watch. The action sequences are dynamic and they have energy and excitement to them that I enjoyed watching. And finally, this is one of those movies that will definitely lend itself to becoming a popular franchise for Netflix with a couple of sequels.
Mixed for KPop Demon Hunters (2025): The music in this movie is quite good for the target audience, I am just not one of them. I don't hate KPop music, it's just that this genre of music isn't my thing and that is okay because it will definitely work for fans of KPop bands like BTS and others.
Negatives for KPop Demon Hunters (2023): The romance between the female and male leads of the two competing bands of this movie is your traditional cliched romance story and it was the weakest aspect of the movie that I disliked.
Overall, KPop Demon Hunters (2023) is damn good time for fans of both fantasy action movies and KPop music. I look forward to seeing if this movie does get a sequel or a franchise because there is a lot of things that can be explored in the future.

- TriviaThere is a deeper meaning to the name "Saja Boys." The Korean word "saja" can mean lion and we see that their logo and branding include lion imagery. However, in Korean folklore "jeoseung saja" are grim reaper figures who escort the souls of the dead to the afterlife. Typical depictions of jeoseung saja show them wearing a black hanbok and a gat (wide brimmed hat) just like the Saja Boys in their demon forms.
- GoofsEarly in the song of "What It Sounds Like", when Rumi sang the line "I broke into a million pieces", Rumi's hoop earrings on her left ear and wing ear cuff on her right ear are missing. The missing ear accessories are back as Rumi sang the line "In the broken glass". Both ear accessories disappear again when Rumi summons her sword on the demon swarm attack and once more when the girls reunited to embrace each other in a hug.
