    A highly enjoyable genre effort

After a death in the family, a grieving family finds themselves dealing with a hard-edge priest who arrives informing them of an ancient evil plaguing the family and tries to use his powers to save the family from the demonic influence that's infected the house trying to tear them apart.

On the whole, this one wasn't that bad of a genre effort. Among the finer aspects present here is the films' willingness to signal the start of the possession rather early and have it sweep through the family members. From the initial transference sequence where it leaves the ailing grandmother and passes over into the new girl that no one is aware of, the series of incidents that she has with the rest of the family trying to help deal with the tragedy but are turned off by her growing signs of obvious possession, and the concurrent investigation by the priest into the actions that the demon has over the family starts this off rather much on a cliched path but is still an entertaining one. With the setup established, there's a lot to like with the actual action in the various ceremonies used to showcase the possessed state of the girl and the eventual first exorcism attempt. Knowing for the interactions she has that there's something going on and his attempts at showing that to the family provide a few touches on the genre's tropes including the altered voices, lunging violently, and reaction to crosses that all leave them in a rather shocking matter. That main exorcism sequence offers nothing new but the performance itself is greatly appreciated with the shaking and levitating as well as various other commonly-associated tactics that provide a fun time. The rest of the film, featuring a sort of supernatural-tinged murder mystery into the deaths that keep occurring and realizing the true culprit behind everything manages to be quite entertaining and feature some solid action. Along with some impressive practical make-up and gore, these give this one enough to hold it up although there are some minor issues to be had here. The main issue here is that there's not a whole lot that makes sense here in terms of tying together the various storylines at play. Since the possession is known only from a crime-scene photo and then almost immediately goes to turn the priests' arrival into the first exorcism attempt that same day, the amount of logic that got skipped over to go for this kind of setup without much else to set it up. As well, other elements along the way that get introduced, from the subtle incestuous relationship between several of the siblings, a mysterious black-robed killer that pops up out of nowhere, and a sudden revelation that mentions the strange backstory of the houses' origins also make no sense all just get introduced into the film rather randomly. As well as some obviously cheesy effects-work at times that stand out against those more impressive practical effects, these are what hold this one down.

Rated Unrated/R: Graphic Violence and Graphic Language.

    It's a miracle

There are two miracles concerning this move The first is how it ever got made in the first place.(it's so bad 👎) The second is how the hell did the resurrect Charles Bronson to star in this terrible movie 🎬

    OMG!!! Resurrection Of Charles Bronson?

OMG! The priest in this picture id a dead ringer for Charles Bronson. Detailed down to his hair and even the shape of his mustache!

When I saw a still pic of him I thought it WAS him! But how could he still be alive? Well he didn't die until after this movie was made, so was it possible?

Then I put the movie on and WOW!!!! It HAD to be him!

Until I heard him say "Vere did the go? Vere did he go?"

Charles Bronson would never say "Vere."

So now we are lft to wonder, does this actor ALWAYS look like tis or did they intentionally make him look like Bronson in the vein of making a Death Exorcist Wish movie?

I dunno, but I DO know one thing -- this movie stinks to high heaven. It's horribly directed and acted and the script is truly moronic.

    Slightly above Average B-Film

Good actors and casting. The dialogue I find mediocre or slightly above. What I like about it is the psychology behind it and that it's pretty no nonsense, but it's also unmemorable. I'm no expert in films with exorcism. The only other film I've seen which reminds me of this is "The Exorcist" (1973) which obviously had a lot higher production value. However, this one is no copy, neither regarding the story line nor in its message which is here much more in the spirit of Charles Bronson in his later years (yes, Richard Bronzi is a Charles Bronson look-alike, but he's a pretty good one). Don't take it too seriously and don't expect high art, just slightly above average entertainment.

I've seen several films with with Richard Bronzi, and only "Once Upon a Time in Deadwood" and this one get a small recommendation from me. The others I find a bit too uneven.

Essentially just a waste of time...

Granted, given the movie's title, its low IMDb rating and the fact that it was Robert Bronzi that had the lead role, I must say that I wasn't really harboring much of any high hopes for the 2022 horror movie "Exorcist Vengeance".

But still I opted to watch this movie from writers Matthew B. C. and Jeff Miller given the fact that it is a horror movie that I hadn't already seen.

And as the movie progressed on the screen, it was clear that the low rating of the movie wasn't without reason. This movie is slow paced, nearly to the point where it became a stand-still, and directors Scott Jeffrey and Rebecca Matthews just didn't manage to churn out a movie with much of any interesting narrative. Yet, I managed to endure through the ordeal to the end, but I can't claim that I was particularly entertained.

The storyline told in "Exorcist Vengeance" was generic, and the fact that the narrative was so insanely slow paced just didn't help to make it a movie that was particularly watchable or entertaining. And if you enjoy horror movies, like I do, then your time, money and effort is better spent elsewhere. Some of us suffered through "Exorcist Vengeance", so you don't have to.

The acting performances in "Exorcist Vengeance" were as expected. Robert Bronzi isn't exactly top of the pop in terms of acting or delivering memorable performances. The guy is mostly in movies solely because he resembles the iconic Charles Bronson. Just sort of amazing really that you can stage a career on being a look-a-like.

For a horror movie then "Exorcist Vengeance" was frightfully devoid of anything even remotely scary or particularly impressive. So it is not a noteworthy addition to the horror genre. It is, in fact, among one of the most dull and laughable of demonic possession movies that I have stumbled upon.

My rating of "Exorcist Vengeance" lands on a two out of ten stars.
