Decent, but no match for Platinum

Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl aren't great games, but they are still enjoyable all-in-all. This is a given, considering what a wonderful region Sinnoh was. It's still a little disappointing given the fact that Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire before it fixed what was one of the worst games in the franchise and made Hoenn tolerable.

The Quality of Life is much better in these games than in the originals. One example is no longer being forced to lug around a Bibarel as you had to in the originals; HMs are now a part of the Pokétch and are unlocked as soon as you obtain their corresponding TMs.

The graphics are of debatable quality, but the overworld chibis are quite cute and the in-battle trainer models are well-crafted and faithful to their original sprites. In particular, we get to see the Battle Girls and the female Cyclists in all their 3D glory. Oddly though, they screwed up with Mars' model, and she's no longer as attractive.

The Underground also got a major rehaul, and instead of simply mining and decorating bases, there are now special areas where you can encounter wild Pokémon, including those that aren't in the DP Sinnoh dex (Magnemite and Houndoom, both of which had to wait until Platinum to enter the Sinnoh dex, come to mind).

While the Union Room is back, they made it so that you are able to access it anytime (after your initial visit) by pressing the Y button.

However, many of the issues from the original Diamond & Pearl that Platinum addressed have come back in these games, namely the underleveled NPCs, slightly weaker plotline, and the lack of Fire-types in the region (discounting the Grand Underground). Similarly to the previous two entries for the Nintendo Switch, the Exp. Share is mandatory. Just like the (sadly underrated) Sword & Shield, affection is also mandatory, despite Sylveon not being in the game.

Overall, the game warrants a 7/10. Good but not great.

    Little effort remake

Just a small improvement remake, you don't need specific Pokemon to learn HM anymore and it's now party experience.

Which I will say makes it much easier for nuzlocke and for just fun challenge, because they are so much XP and so many Pokemons to catch in Underground.

The Pokémon game is fine. I think generation legs a gimmick, something interesting beside the being so many hm moves, There is not much to it, but at least there are many double battles.

The music is fine, many of the pokemon's that were created in this Generations have a cool design to them, but there is just not much to it If you're a person like me who likes to defeat defeat the Elite 4 and then call it done.

As We all know, as long as you play with friendsd Then they is no bad Pokemon game.

    Brilliant Diamond was Brilliant

10 out of 10 - A Legendary Remake That Shines Brighter Than Ever

Pokémon Brilliant Diamond perfectly captures the magic and nostalgia of the original Diamond while bringing the Sinnoh region into the modern era with style, polish, and heart.

    Deep Dive Into Sinnoh

From the moment you start your journey in Jubilife City, Brilliant Diamond pulls you back into the classic Sinnoh adventure with all the charm and depth that made the original so iconic. Whether it's battling Gym Leaders, exploring the mysterious Underground, or facing off against the menacing Team Galactic, every step feels epic and rewarding.

The story remains tight and engaging, full of moments that tug at your nostalgia while delivering fresh energy.

    Visuals and Style

The graphics and art direction take the "chibi" style to a new level of charm. The environments feel alive and vibrant, filled with gorgeous details that reward exploration. The character models and animations bring a unique personality to the game, blending retro vibes with modern flair beautifully.

    Gameplay & Mechanics

The battle system stays true to the classic turn-based Pokémon formula but benefits greatly from improved mechanics and smoother controls. Quality-of-life upgrades like easier item management, improved menus, and better navigation make the journey much more enjoyable without diluting the challenge.

The Grand Underground adds exciting new gameplay layers with mining, secret bases, and multiplayer features that deepen replayability.

    Multiplayer & Community

Online battles and trades are seamless and accessible, fostering a strong competitive and social community. The game does an excellent job of balancing nostalgia with modern connectivity, allowing players to fully engage with the Pokémon world both solo and with friends.

    Why 10 out of 10?

Brilliant Diamond doesn't just remake a classic - it revitalizes it. The game is a masterclass in how to respect the source material while pushing a beloved franchise forward. It's accessible for newcomers but rich enough for longtime fans to appreciate every detail.

Final Word: For anyone craving the ultimate Sinnoh adventure, Pokémon Brilliant Diamond delivers in every way. It's a shining example of how to do a remake right - full of heart, polish, and timeless fun.

10 out of 10 - Legendary in every sense.

    Brilliant

Pokemon Brilliant Diamond is a faithful remake to the definition of the word remake. With a cute art style, pretty good story, and no longer needing an hm seevant brilliant diamond is a worthwhile entry into any switch library.
