Great first episode.

Thomas and Susan have secretly married, getting hitched without any family members there. They decide it's time to tell the folks, but there's one thing that their families won't be prepared for, a mixed race marriage.

After binge watching Love thy Neighbour, this came up as a suggestion, and I'm glad it did, this was hilarious, such a funny start.

Thomas and Sue are sweet, a bit wet, but a cute couple, the laughs come from the prejudices of their families, I imagine lots of clashes will follow. Joan Sanderson perhaps stealing the show, a somewhat more sympathetic character than I was expecting.

Before he'd go on to play Shane in That's my boy, Christopher Blake appeared in Mixed Blessings, an altogether more interesting and challenging comedy.

When I speak to black family members, they explain that life really was very different, that casual and not so casual racism such as is seen here was prevalent, not the made up world on screens now.

I'm into this straight away.
