Thought i'd try this film out as i haven't seen many foreign language films before, especially Punjabi ones. And i have to say that i was stunned by how godawful this film was. I wasn't expecting a masterpiece by any metric, but the entire film felt like a joke, like i was being pranked.
For a start, the film is unintentionally hilarious on many fronts, including the soundtrack which is intrusively loud and the lyrics to the songs are comedically terrible ('What is happening? What is happening? What is happening?' Indeed! WTF is actually happening??). The story was both threadbare and didn't make much sense, the acting was laughable with everyone either absurdly over-the-top or in a coma, and the director thought he was cool by making almost every character walk in slllloooo -mootiiiooon constantly even when doing something as mundane as pouring a cup of water.
The story and characters didn't hold my attention and i didn't care how it ended. I saw another review saying they were on the edge of their seat. Yes, i'l admit i was too, desperate for the credits to roll so i can do a Usain Bolt impersonation from my seat to the exit.
Dire!!! Avoid this garbage at all costs unless you want your sanity tested.

This film never had a dull moment. I was always wondering what is happening next. Highly recommend this movie. I couldn't even go to the bathroom because I was scared of missing something. The short length is also perfect nothing was extra. Every actor played their role perfectly, Neeru was amazing as always and rana really had a chance to show his acting range, jazzy also exceeded my expectations after being away from films for so long he killed his role too, and arshi being a new face in punjabi cinema I was scared he wouldn't math the others acting ability but he might have been the best of all. His role was played perfectly as was everyone else's. The movie also had a deep meaning of everything that is wrong with Canada right now highly recommend everyone goes to watch.
After watching the best Punjabi movie ever made in 'The legend of Maula Jatt' I had the unfortunate experience of watching one of the worst in 'Snowman' with in a couple of months time.
There's a song in the movie which goes by 'eh ki ho reha hai' and me and my wife were literally looking at each other and thinking the same about the movie.
The best part was that it was 2hrs long and not 2:30 or 3:00hrs or else this movie might have become the first Punjabi movie where we would have left the cinema mid way.
Not even a talented actor like Rana Ranbir could save it.
Punjabi audience is ready to accept movies made on different concepts other than the comedy movies but Punjabi cinema need talented people to produce/direct the same as well.

I went into this movie blind and I'm hesitant to even call it a movie.
Firstly the good) Concept is okay at BEST, and they chose a beautiful place to film the movie. It looks great. Some drone shots are well done, and credits song was fine. Plus Rana Ranbir the only actual actor in this mess cleans up as much as he can with what he's given.
The Bad) ALOT As others say it's 10% movie 90% songs. On top of that while the songs are playing the visual is just the actors/actresses just staring into the distance looking "cool". Music is repetitive as well with some songs literally translating to "What is happening" over and over again. Of course the "snowman" over and over again.
Acting is also incredibly weak. Never understood the reason of forcing a Punjabi character to speak English and vice versa. Let them speak in a language they're comfortable with over broken English/Punjabi. Ruins scenes. As well line delivery is so flat at times it's sad. You know a intense movie is bad when I'm laughing at line deliveries and acting choices. As said before Rana Ranbir is a shining star in the movie but is bogged down by the writing.
Writing needed honestly like 1-2 months of just refinement. Everything feels so forced as "this happened because it had to happen". Sometimes characters will act out of character just to suit the "story". It's odd to say the least. Ontop of that towards the ends 2-3 characters are added for no reason? It's again forced to suit the "shock" ending. Also 1 hour 20 mins run time? That's it? Factoring in all the songs + credits it's AT MAX 40 mins of actually move
Editing is jarring. Any tense scenes are ruined by worthless cuts to another plot.
Ending is laughably bad like actually I was laughing at how dumb it was. Any sensible plot/motive is thrown out the window for a "cool twist". Also a "To be continued" with quite literally nothing to go off is the worst thing ever.
TLDR: Don't waste your money on this movie a 1 hour bore fest. The only movie where the whole theatre was talking towards the end out of boredom. I feel bad as it's a smaller cast and budget but some stuff is inexcusably bad. I gave it a star for Rana Ranbir and the filming location. Hopefully we won't see a Snowman 2.

40% is the movie and 60% is just title track playing in the background. Average acting and average dialogue delivery. I though it would change punjabi cinema but hell no.
The only character that is good is the just Snowman itself. Everything else seem pushed to complete movie.
Just to increase the length of the movie, the title track is being played in the whole movie with the slow mo.
I had great expectations from this movie.
Rana Ranbir is a good actor and writer and the reason I went to watch the first show of the movie.
Direction could be better also if they get good actors. May be then this movie will get good reviews.
