Was always curious to watch this show on acorn tv. I'm certainly glad I did! A great cast and surprisingly fantastic guest actors! A lot of good eastenders and coronation street and The royal today alumn!!
I rather like Pauline Quirke in anything she does. She always does the tough broad role rather well! Just to bad they didn't leave her with more of her own character like a mum and wife for this role as a smart DCI
The Show is short and simple half hour episodes which are light and thankfully not to much of the rigor mortises, blood and guts that doesn't appeal to us who are a bit faint at heart!

I just finished season 1- it was good..not exciting, but good. You have to remember this is from the UK & they have a different take on cop shows & the amount of blood & violence- not like in the US.
This is just easy to watch, the stories are all different & things get wrapped up with each episode- you don't have to be rivited to the screen to follow the story line.
I found this series on Acorn-which is a UK produced subscription. I find lots of good things on the Acorn service.

Poor Pauline Quirk having to work with this lot. Scripting was unnatural and awkward, the guy from The Bill (Wingett) needed to tone his overacting down about 60%, I had trouble remembering they were supposed to be police officers - the younger cast members were like work experience students. Just awful.
I suffered the indignity of the first episode of this latest 10 part soap opera and in doing so watched every tired cliché retread in the book. If you have run out of lines in a police drama then just insert "I'll get uniform on to it!" or " Uniform are on it, ma'am!" or better still "I thought uniform was dealing with that!" The ma'am in question doesn't get on with her boss, she doesn't know if she'll make important family gatherings because she's got a big case on, A chap is sulking 'cos his dad doesn't understand him being gay, an office romance is about as interesting as watching a fart dissipate.
Add to that the appalling script and the melodramatic nonsense of the story and you are in for a rough ride.
It's... well, just bloody awful!
