Originally a different actress was supposed to play the main character in this movie called "Iris", but because she thought making this movie would cheapen her reputation at the local university TV studio she dropped out. At the time of this the only scenes that had been filmed was everything taking place inside McHell, and all the scenes with Jaden Butnaru as the Devil in which he talked to a dummy stand-in with a cheap blonde wig. Within only a couple of days Connor White rewrote the entire movie to fit this, deciding to make Dan Brown's small part from the McHell scenes the main character, as a Priest going undercover, and green screening him into Jaden Butnaru's scenes to make it look like he was there the whole time.

Alternate versions
In 2022 Connor White shot 5 extra minutes of new footage and restored several deleted scenes. Rereleasing the movie into Chaos House Picture's YouTube channel as an extended director's cut titled "Escape From Hell: Special Edition"
