This is drama based on spoken word. As I am German my review focuses on acting and the message. Not being bulgarian I am unable to judge dialogue. I had tie pleaseure to watch the movie in Bulgaria surrounded by Bulgarians in original. It´s about a man who, driven by financial heart ship, needs to move to Germany for work and the way he deals with this. Call me blue-eyed, but I expected a differentiated view on the experience to live with different cultures and how to align them for a better live or any teaching conclusion. In opposite the entire movie seemed to fuel Bulgarian nationalistic resentments and the idea that leaving Bulgarian is punishment, no matter what, even if it can give you hope for the for a better future life to leave for a while. At the same time other options like the chance to change your view where not even touched. The main character is basically acting irrational the entire movie, hitting things and constantly looking like his live ended. He steals a dog (also he apparently moves into another country)... And his seemingly more rational family members and friends are disregarded in rage. In short: The notion represents the notion of a lot of Bulgarians here which still believe if life is not good, someone punishes them and it´s the fault of someone else like for example The EU which they chose to join. IF you are looking for a movie about the beauty of international exchange and personal growth or just any positive vibe you are left wanting!. I have to subjectively not that I did see no native Bulgarians around me who were amazed with this movie neither. Most seem to have shared my feeling of bored head-shaking. How this movie could have earned so many awards: I am not sure. Things can be bought in this country and there are many who eagerly need to put resentments into the Bulgarian heads for political control.. No, sorry. No master piece, not thought provoking, not 2025, Not exciting, not visionary.. Bluntly dumb.
