Summary
Reviewers say 'Zootopia+' expands the beloved Zootopia universe with varied themes and messages. Many praise the series for enriching the world and providing character backstories. Episodes like "The Godfather of the Bride" are lauded for positive messages and world-building. However, some find certain episodes dark or inappropriate for children. The animation and voice acting are consistently praised, upholding the original film's quality. Despite mixed episode reactions, the series is generally viewed as a fun, albeit uneven, addition to Zootopia.

I don't think it was nesscary to have shorts. I mean, I like that it develops the side characters, but I was thinking the series would be set around what goes on after the original movie. I.e I like how it shows what happened at the wedding while they were talking with the flashback. But it felt like it didnt have as much significance to the story as you think it would if the episodes were long and more connected. Like an actual series with a storyline. There were so many different ways they could have gone about doing the series. I just wish there was more or the episodes were longer in general.
If you love Zootopia, this is absolute essential viewing!
The animation, soundtrack and voice acting are on-point, and the writing is heartwarming, fun, and hilarious!
I love that these shorts fill-in little bits of plot from the film, it's really great. I'm going to have anew perspective on the movie when I rewatch it :-)
My only issue is that there are only six episodes! Obviously it takes a lot of time, effort and money to make these as high-quality as the film, but all-the-same, when I was done it was a bit like "oh... where's the rest?" which is a real shame. Still, I can see myself watching this multiple times :-)
Highly recommended for established Zootopia fans. Heck, I think random viewers could still enjoy it!

Six shorts in the world of Zootopia+
These short episodes are fine, and flesh out the world of Zootopia a bit more, but they also don't go very deep. They just kind of exist as filler - literally, they fill some small gaps from the Zootopia movie and nothing more. They're nice for something by short to throw on in the background, but there isn't much else here.
However, I think these shorts do demonstrate a place to develop the Zootopia world more, maybe in an ongoing show, or a sequel flick.
However, these by themselves hardly satisfy the desire for more of what made Zootopia a great film.

Well, we're here. Something has been added to Zootopia's universe after 6 years of silence and that thing is Zootopia+. Whilst one could expect something more grand given the success of the original movie, it could be explained by the possibility of producers having a sequel in works. If there's any Disney movie that needs an actual sequel so badly it's Zootopia.
Zootopia+ managed to wrap up some really unique stories for side characters, gave them more exposure, added their perspective during the original movie's run in the background and perfectly schowcased what each of the characters struggled with. Stories like the Godfather of the Bride is a good example of origins story and struggle in the humble beginnings, while others like Duke: The Musical seems to focus more on entertainment value and character's personality. Stories told more boldly seem to do better than those existing just for the sake of entertainment.
Animation is indistinguishable from the movie, so there's no complain about it. Humor is debatable, but definitely not the worse I've ever seen. Some lines actually managed to crack me up. The whole premise of Z+, on the other hand, seems like it's about just giving some of the side characters more exposure that they lacked in the original movie. Notice how characters that had fairly well explained backstory didn't receive any sort of big appearances. The main characters from the movie have short appearances and even though most of the scenes with them were recycled from the original movie, while camera angle was changed a bit, they still managed to steal the audience and leave them questioning - "Is that it?"
"We need more!" is what I take from this short episodic series. It could work as a bonus between first Zootopia and a sequel before its release, but given the fact that we still need to wait for any sort of announcment, it leaves a bad taste of just being not enough to please the fans. It's enjoyable, sometimes funny, but definitely not enough.
8/10.

For a world as rich and expansive as the one set up in Zootopia, it's a shame that we only got 6 ten-minute shorts in this TV series. It felt like there could have been much more to develop. However, what was here was at least enjoyable. I think I enjoyed the Godfather episode the best because it provided great backstory for one of the best side-characters in the original film. It is sort of a shame there wasn't more to see of Judy and Nick, although let's hope they save all that for a proper sequel that I'm praying will be announced soon. So, overall, I enjoyed this and it had some very funny moments, but this world created by the original film deserved a little more than an anthology.
