Snoop Dogg is facing significant criticism after performing at an inauguration party for President-elect Donald Trump.
The rapper, 53, took the stage at the first-ever Crypto Ball on Friday night in Washington D.C., an event hosted by former PayPal COO David Sacks. Sacks, a Silicon Valley investor, is set to join the Trump administration as the AI and Crypto Czar.
Footage of Snoop’s performance sparked backlash across social media. Some fans labeled the move as “culturally embarrassing” and “disrespectful.”
Critics expressed their disappointment, with one user on X writing, “Wait a goddamn minute, @SnoopDogg is playing Trump’s inauguration???? Aw hell naw.” Another user stated, “What is Snoop Dogg’s new name? I’ll go first: Snoop Fraud.”
The performance marked a shift for Snoop, who previously criticized Trump but later expressed support. In an interview last year, he stated, “Donald Trump? He ain’t done nothing wrong to me.

Sally Aitken is shining a light on an under-explored, but important, natural subject in Every Little Thing. Having gotten her start behind the camera with the PBS period miniseries Colonial House, Aitken has helmed both narrative and documentary projects throughout her career, though has largely been focused on the latter genre, ranging from Getting Frank Gehry to Disney+'s Playing with Sharks: The Valerie Taylor Story. Some of her most recent efforts include the Chris Hemsworth-hosted Shark Beach, Australia's Inconceivable - The Secret Business of Breeding Human and Hot Potato: The Story of the Wiggles.
Every Little Thing sees Aitken continuing her documentary streak and turning her focus to Terry Masear, an author and wildlife rehabber living in Los Angeles. Inspired by her book, Fastest Things on Wings: Rescuing Hummingbirds in Hollywood, the movie explores Masear's efforts to save every injured hummingbird in the California city, showcasing some of...

Berlin — In a bellwether deal on one of the cutting edges of European TV, Zdf Studios has taken distribution worldwide on drama series “The Zweiflers,” produced by Turbokultur for Ard Degeto Film and Hessischer Rundfunk (Hr).
Created and showrun by David Hadda, the six-part series will premiere in Germany on Ard’s Mediathek streaming service in the spring and also be shown on Das Erste, Ard’s main linear channel, in the near future.
In an age of spiraling costs and a large need to cut through a still immensely crowded market, Europe’s public broadcasters –Zdf Studios, not Zdf in this case – are looking to partner. The most obvious partners are other state TV networks, even in their own country if the co-operation works.
“We have already added Ard Degeto Film projects to our portfolio before. And there will be more in the future. There are no limits to our choice of partners,...

Kingsley Ben-Adir learned to sing and play guitar for his role as Bob Marley in Bob Marley: One Love. Ben-Adir's lack of a musical background almost stopped him from auditioning for the role, as he believed there was "no point" since he couldn't sing. Ben-Adir performed all the songs using his real singing voice while filming on set, and the final cut of the film features a blend of his and Bob Marley's vocals.
Kingsley Ben-Adir plays the eponymous role in Bob Marley: One Love, but it's hard to tell just from watching if the actor is really singing and playing guitar in the movie. Directed by Reinaldo Marcus Green, Bob Marley: One Love tells the true life story of the music legend and chronicles his rise to fame as a reggae pioneer. Bob Marley and the Wailers music has inspired fans since the 1970’s. From “Could You Be Loved” to “Three Little Birds” to the monumental, “One Love/People Get Ready” it all sounds timeless. And in the new feature film, Bob Marley: One Love, director Reinaldo Marcus Green celebrates the man’s legacy. Thankfully, it doesn’t simply follow the bio pic tradition. The new film places focus on the release of the extraordinary “Exodus.” The band’s attempt to put on a concert meant to bring people together plays a significant part of the feature as well. It’s a wonderful film, and yes, Kingsley Ben-Adir is utterly marvelous as the singer.
As an admirer of Mr. Marley and his legacy, I was thrilled to speak with the folks who brought it to life. First up, we spoke with the fantasic Ziggy Marley, who is one of the producers of the film.

Kacey Musgraves is back on the saddle again.

Deeper Well is Kacey Musgraves’ first new album since 2021’s star-crossed, and was predominately recorded at New York City’s famed Electric Lady Studios with previous collaborators Daniel Tashian and Ian Fitchuk. “I was seeking some different environmental energy, and Electric Lady has the best mojo. She continued, saying “It’s ironic that the more woods-y side of me came out in New York City. I wasn’t making this record alone in a cabin in the forest. We were in one of the most crowded cities on the planet,...

‘Three Little Birds’ Ending Explained & Series Recap: What Happens To Leah, Chantrelle, And Hosanna?
Three Little Birds is a beautiful and emotional tale of three women who had their own dreams and aspirations, moving from Jamaica to England to start a new life and build a better future. The three women: Leah, her sister Chantrelle, and their friend Hosanna had different reasons for coming to England from Jamaica. For Leah, it was to escape her abusive household and build a better future for herself and her children. Chantrelle, on the other hand, wanted to pursue her dream of becoming an actress and accepted a maid job at Wantage House in England. As for Hosanna, her journey was driven by the desire to find her father, who had left her and moved to England. Additionally, she was to marry Leah’s brother, Aston. While their motivations differed, what they shared was the common goal of making a home in England and striving for a better life.

ITV Spent $68M On Diverse Shows In 2023
ITV invested £54.2M ($68M) of its Diversity Commissioning Fund last year on shows made by or about people from under-represented backgrounds such as Lenny Henry’s Three Little Birds. The fund was launched in 2022 with £80M to be spent across three years to “drive change towards racial equity and disability equity in whose stories get told,” with one quarter reserved for content made by “production companies led by People of Colour and/or Deaf, Disabled and/or Neurodivergent people.” The figures came as part of the Love Island network’s Diversity Acceleration Plan report for the previous 12 months, which said 475 productions across around 160 production companies have embedded Dei using ITV’s production principles over the past three years. The BBC has a similar £100M fund across a three-year period to March 2024 and says it has already exceeded this target. ITV said plans for...

Lenny Henry is to present his final Comic Relief this year.
The comedian co-founded the charity with fabled director Richard Curtis in 1985 and has since hosted multiple BBC telethons and been involved closely with the organization.
He said it was time to see “new faces” at the helm but remains life president of Comic Relief – a telethon called Red Nose Day that takes place annually and features comedians, singers and actors trying to raise money for various charities.
“When we first started Comic Relief back in 1985, I never dreamed we’d still be here today,” said Henry, an actor, comedian and creative who recently launched a Banijay-backed indie, Esmerelda Productions. Kacey Musgraves has released a studio version of the oft-covered Bob Marley and The Wailers classic “Three Little Birds.” Her rendition is for Reinaldo Marcus Green’s upcoming biopic Bob Marley: One Love.
Musgraves wisely didn’t try to replicate Marley’s roots reggae instrumentation here. Instead, she used his melodies and evergreen lyrics over a gentle acoustic guitar strum, some minimal drums, and a pedal steel. It’s all blanketed in heavy reverb, staying authentic to the comforting quality of the original song while making it her own.
“Three Little Birds” is just one of six Marley covers on an eponymous EP accompanying One Love. That’ll also feature Leon Bridges, Daniel Caesar, Bloody Civilian, Jessie Reyez, Wizkid, and Bob’s grandson Skip Marley. Stream Musgraves’ contribution and then see the full EP tracklist below.

Will Smith has a storied career full of a variety of TV shows and movies of all different genres, so it was quite shocking to find out that his two most dissimilar projects, Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and I Am Legend, share one of the same jokes. The '90s sitcom, Fresh Prince, helped rocket Smith to stardom, and its legacy lives on through one of the best TV reboot shows, Bel-Air. However, Smith proved that there's more to his talent than just comedic timing as he began to take more serious roles as his career grew — and none was more serious than the "vampire/zombie" horror/thriller, I Am Legend.
I Am Legend saw Smith play Robert Neville, a hardened survivor of a plague that killed most of humanity while turning the rest into darkness-dwelling monsters. The 2007 movie features a tragic storyline for Smith that sees his family killed...

Seven weeks after joining a company, most senior executives would be expected to have sat down with everyone they’ll be working with. Banijay — the TV behemoth behind shows such as Peaky Blinders, Survivor, Black Mirror, Sas Rogue Heroes, Marie Antoinette, Masterchef, Keeping Up With The Kardashians, Big Brother and many, many more — isn’t your average company, as its new global head of scripted Christian Wikander has quickly discovered.
Thanks to an acquisitions drive that didn’t stop after its $2.2 billion purchase of Endemol Shine closed mid-2020 — Banijay now has a roster of more than 60 labels working in scripted on its books, and from all corners of the globe. Seven weeks into the job, it’s impressive that Wikander has even managed to have face-to-face time with more than half.

Warning: The following contains spoilers about Season 3, Episode 6 of Ted Lasso.
We need to talk about what happens in Amsterdam. More specifically, what happens to Rebecca in Amsterdam. Because after watching Wednesday’s Ted Lasso, we have some serious questions about what, exactly, went down between AFC Richmond’s owner and the Man With No Name (played by Dutch actor Matteo Van Der Grijn), and whether we should be skeeved out at all.

Lenny Henry’s “Three Little Birds,” Steven Knight’s “This Town” and a first look at “The Summit,” billed as a blockbuster adventure reality series, look like just three highlights of Banijay Rights extensive and wide-ranging lineup at what promises to be one of the biggest presentations at this week’s London TV Screenings.
Further scripted titles will take in “This Town” and “The Sixth Commandment” for the BBC, “Domina” for MGM+ and Sky, and “Safe Home” for Sbs, as well as doc feature “Lara.”
Given the iconic talent behind some titles – “It’s a Sin’s” Russell T. Davies serves as an executive producer on “Three Little Birds – scripted is likely to command large buyer attention.
Beyond “The Summit,” unscripted titles take in a strong line in dating and relationship shows, “Love Triangle,” “Date My Mate” and “Save the Date” as well as new interior design competition “The Big Interiors Battle,...

After five years of quietly gathering steam within the international TV community, the 2023 edition of the London TV Screenings is its biggest outing yet.
Running Feb. 27 to March 3, the event features more than 25 distributors and 400 buyers. But how did the confab evolve from a set of casual screenings by rival distributors of the BBC into an event that now rivals MipTV in Cannes?
Its genesis goes back to 1976, when BBC Showcase was created from 25 European buyers gathering in Brighton’s Old Ship Hotel to watch episodes of shows such as “Fawlty Towers,” and buy such programs for audiences back in their home countries. The showcase then moved to other locations, including Edinburgh and Harrogate, before returning to Brighton, and eventually relocating to Liverpool in 2012.
The number of distributors and rivals to the BBC grew, so they arranged meetings with buyers and partners in London after the Showcase and began to...
