The Good
You get to see lots of scenic Greek islands, meet interesting locals and immigrants, and learn things about the history of Greek civilization. Never mind that the islands do all basically look the same because our host, Peter, eagerly explains the unique qualities of each place. I'm reminded of the Thai phrase "same same, but different."
The Bad
The yacht Mia Zoi looks great, and with her twin 2,800 horsepower engines that use thousands of liters of fuel each day, why worry about climate change and global warming as long as you can satisfy your urge to get to every known inhabited Greek island and host a nifty travel show?
The Ugly
Lose the man purse and the neck turban Peter. I understand that your wife Helen probably gave you those for your birthday and that puts you in an awkward situation, but do you really need those things? When you've freed yourself from the unnecessary adornments, why not splurge and get a nose job and some laser hair removal for your arms and back, please. And last but not least, if I see you shoveling food into your mouth one more time, I will swear off eating forever.
I must be a glutton for punishment though, because I am actually looking forward to the seventh (and final) series when that comes out.

As a history lover I was blown away at the level of information I received from this well made yet entertaining documentary series.
I wish I've know Peter in real life because I truly enjoyed every moment of this documentary because of his relentless energy and interest in his own culture.
We can't afford the boat nor the trip but this gave us the window to live all of the beautiful moments that Peter experienced throughout this journey.
I wish all documentary series are this exciting and sometimes funny like "My Greek Odyssey" Well done guys and thank you for taking us onto an unforgettable journey through beautiful Greece.

The series is an authentic view of the Greek islands and the local history. Pleasure to watch every episode. Peter Maneas is resourceful and unique character. His humor and smile make watching every episode a pleasure. The combination of local history along with the storytelling from locals themselves makes things more attractive.
Very entertaining and informative host is very good at it. Would love to see more and also would love to see the host do more travel shows in the future as he doesn't bore you out like others on TV.
There are few shows that manage to combine so many fascinating subjects in a fun and engaging manner. Food, history, culture, characters - My Greek Odyssey has it all! The host brings passion and energy to the screen and paints pictures with his words. Speaking of pictures, the cinematography is incredible.
