A failed parody of death metal by death metal haters who have NO idea what they're talking about

That gets boring and irritating each episode more and more, with the parody elements consisting of the word "rape" repeated a billion of times amongst other useless, misoginystic innuendos and the highlight of the presumed stupidity of death metal fans. I'll give you an hint on how to do a proper parody: inform yourself priorly well on what you intend to parody, just to give to the people who are part of the environment you're targeting something valuable and worthwhile (for example parodying the never-ending flood of over-pompous tech-death metal outfits who would make blush the likes of Yngwie Malmsteem for the pretentiousness of their offer, a là Blood Incantion or Obscura by Gorguts style), otherwise you're simply wasting yours and everyone else's time for nothing AND insulting gratitiously people for no discernible reason whatsoever (especially the death metal musicians, who don't act in the way they do in this dreck except for some sparse and isolated, ugly exceptions). Also, the animation in this stinks, so there's even that. Avoid with no remorse whatsoever, even with the runtime being so short.

    True deviant Japan anime!

Just watched the full show in a row and it was awesome. I pretty much enjoyed every episodes. Well i know many ppl wont like this but its 100% fit to my taste. It was very long ago when i did laugh that much to something. The music was also good enough.

They are very short 10 min episodes so just watch the first one to decide if you want to continue. The first episode is good enough to rate this.

As the story continues it will become more and more insane. Thats the true Japan madness what i really like and enjoy. Ofc i only recommend 18+ ppl :)

Definitely i will rewatch it again later.

    10/10.

    What a blast

I really enjoyed this one, it doesn't really take itself serious at all.

It has it's own crazy and unique humor which i loved. I had a blast with it, to me it incredibly funny i couldn't stop laughing through most of it. If you are into dark humor i highly recommend it.

Detroit Metal City: Well nobody can say it isn't memorable!

This lengthy anime tells the story of a j-pop loving kid who somehow someway finds himself as the iconic lead singer of a death metal band. He hates the character he becomes, the music he makes and the effect it has on those around him.

Now I want to like anime but sadly always seem to struggle to find ones I enjoy. I like the dark stuff and most are too cutesy for me, this visually is cutesy but in reality is anything but.

Heavily R-Rated, with language that aims to shock. Being Japanese and their questionable stance on sexual violence the word rape is used literally a dozen times per episode and gets really old really fast.

The thing is it's actually quite entertaining. With quirky humor and interesting ideas this feels more like a television series than a movie but still manages to provide both the laughs and the shocks.

I'm not entirely sure it puts death metal in a very good light depicting its fans as psychotics, sadists, anarchists and rapists but if you don't take it too seriously you'll have fun.

Certainly not for the faint of heart and an acquired taste in many ways it can be compared to Monkey Dust (2003) and is almost as good.

    The Good:

    Lot of real belly laughs

    Highly original

    Oddly feel good vibe

    Great ideas

    The Bad:

    Doesn't feel like a movie

    Has no beginning/middle/end

I'm no prude but the rape usage was excessive

    DMC! Just Crazy

This is one of the craziest most bizarre comedy anime with a lot of vulgar words used in a proper and in a most offensive manner.

The story is about Negishi Souichi who sort of has a dual personality. He's a quiet person who loves romcom and melodious pop and on another hand, he's the frontman of the craziest metal band in the indie 'DMC'. The anime is about how he copes up with him being a silent person and how he gotta muscle up to be the craziest man in the whole universe. The scenarios and the situations he falls into are absolutely crazy and love his Krauser persona where his fans are just 'adorable'.

The dialogues, the characters, the music lyrics were some of the best and the most erratic ones. Personally didn't like the shifts in the angle of the presentation, regardless this is one of my favorite craziest anime. Highly recommended!
