Regarding Shamless and tone-deaf

I do not think the story had any reference to "indian raids" This is more along the lines of High Plains Drifter or the Magnificent Seven where the heroes help the mining town defend against bandits or in this case the Sumi pirates.

I thought stories about Indian raids on old west settlements were a thing of the past, and rightly so, but I guess anything's fair game when you're out of ideas. They could have, at the very least, updated the costumes. SMDH

Aweful

I thought the cowboys in the last episode were uninspired writing but Captain Roy is straight out of the 70's blacksploitation films. If this was to be an homage or an ironic riff, I think you missed it.

To be clear, it's the script I think is weak. I think thee actors and the production team are doing the best they can and visually, I think the show is well done. They deserve better scripts.
