The storyline is actually pretty good and entertaining. I put it on out of curiosity and was pleasantly surprised. At first, I thought they were pushing it not allowing it to be just a movie. After completing the season, I now believe this would be a delight as a series. I love sci-fi and even though it's geared towards children, it really is a family show. The main characters JUST SO HAPPEN to be African American, but they don't make the show about that. That is refreshing to see!
The series is not slow paced and predictable as some kids shows are. I will say as a parent, these kids will annoy you a bit because THEY DONT LISTEN. But it's necessary to push the storyline forward. They grow on you as the season comes to an end though.
They aren't preachy so, you will have to explain that violence and misbehaving in real life have consequences. The things happening in the show are for entertainment purposes only! They don't sugar coat it because it's a kids show! Which makes it awesome sci-fi watching. I'd suggest it for kids 7 and up! When they fight, they FIGHT!
The graphics are movie quality. The storyline doesn't have any holes in it as far as season 1. There are no unanswered questions about anything. My only complaint is, I feel like the father doesn't react in a realistic way when the kids adamantly don't listen. Again, I think it's to push the storyline forward. If you watch bobs burgers he has very much so a "BOB" response! He never actually reprimands them for constantly undermining him, even though it puts them in serious danger. Other than that, I cannot wait for season 2. Netflix did a good job with this one!

I just finished watching with my 7 yr old daughter.
She actually cried in the last episode and it tugged on my heartstrings too. That's the most fun I have had watching a series with her that felt like it was equally for both adults & kids. Fun and engaging story, AMAZING character design & style, great staging and just the right amount of Starwars homage but still managing to invent something totally new.
Few complaints about the voice acting for the kids which i agree with. The tone of the voice for the daughter lacked appeal and made her too bratty. Rest of the voices were great though.
Having worked in series myself people have to realize what an achievement this series is in a tight time frame and limited resources. The team have clearly poured their heart n soul into this one.

The short runtime and very good CGI along with a well worn story, helps this show tremendously. The kids are a bit on the extra side, really pushing the boundaries on what parents allow.
The action scenes are well done, the characters are well fleshed out except Vax, (maybe a season 2?)
As a father myself, I could understand where the titular character was going through and also sometimes mistakenly thinking that making money for your family will make up for the feelings of guilt not being around as much.
I would recommend this to parents and the family, a bit violent towards the latter part, but can be done away by looking at the message they're trying to convey.
Making time with your family, being honest with them and always means for than providing for them.

I am enjoying this series and presently watching season 2 on Netflix. I love sci-fi and the different places featured in outer space is amazing but the kids omg the kids are spoilt, don't listen and think they know it all really makes it impossible for me to truly enjoy. Maybe that's the way kids behave these days not sure but it makes it very annoying to enjoy the show. I love that the family is all in on the space adventure. I love bobbly in season 2 he is funny and does know what he is doing if given a chance by everyone. He is so gooey and funny please kids have respect for your elders and bobbly as he is an adult though he isn't human.

This show is great. Though the plot was predictable at times I still found each episode interesting to watch and binged the whole series with my daughter.
The show is about the kids stowing away and making their dads job harder.
Being a parent that works from home I thought this was a great representation of what it looks like when you try to work while your kids are around. I'll admit his kids did not listen but put kids that age in space and I'm sure it would look a lot like this if space actually did consist of cute little cartoon characters.
Im happy to see a POC piece that isn't about racism or being different because of something semi related to skin or something around that topic but not directly that topic.
