The film looks like a short feature idea which story has been expanded with cliché situations and mundane dialogues. Cinematography is nonexistent, very flat with fraught lighting (Malaysian directors often think that B&W is sufficient to make an art movie). Altogether not a bad movie with some good and compelling scenes but Mei Fen Lim's poor acting skills really keep you cringing on your seat. A good and valiant effort.
This is a movie about everyday life of 2 characters, a e-hailing driver and a hooker. And nothing much happen, just shows this 2 characters struggling in Kuala Lumpur. You expect this to win an oscar when there is no conflict happen. If malaysia want to win an oscar, just watch Parasite again and again to compare. Prebet Sapu is an okay movie. Nothing much.
A dispiriting view on Kuala Lumpur over striking B&W cinematography. Muzzamer Rahman knew how to present all the struggles living in big city for small people. Affendi & Lim showed honest performances though i expected more astute conclusions in their stories.
It was the first Malaysian movie I had watched. I found the movie very engaging. I was feeling alone when I watched this and was able to resonate with the two characters. The movie revolves around the two and has a simple plot, but it never felt like a drag. Would recommend.
