Damn you, Tall Man! The rules are clear: you should play at night and hide all day, not the other way around, you silly CGI face Slender Man wannabe! Paranormal entities these days...
The Tall Man is clearly a variation of the Slender Man, but it's well-executed and genuinely scary. The appearance of the Tall Man, in particular, is truly horrifying.
My only complaint is that, unlike in many horror films where characters at least try to turn on the lights during terrifying moments-even if the lights usually don't work-here, the protagonist doesn't even attempt it, despite the dire situation.
That aside, The Tall Man cleverly uses everyday objects-like shoes-to build tension while gradually revealing the creature itself. The horror is effective and well-delivered. Well done!
