A touching little fragment, this low-key fantasy from director Darren Perry showcases his trademark focus on English greenery once more, this time as a backdrop for a concise tale of the lightly supernatural. Eschewing shocks for something more subtle, the film is simple but well-paced, nicely directed, and particularly impressive in its imagery and framing - shots of the male lead positioned within an arc of leafy branches, close-ups of the talismanic stone animal which may or may not act as a portal between our world and that of the dead. The storyline may be a familiar one but bears repeated telling, and while there is insufficient room within a ten-minute span to truly detail any relationship between the characters, a connection and a sweetness is conveyed nevertheless. A change of pace for Darren, and a welcome one.
A big thank you! To the filmmakers Darren and Richard for scaring the pants of me!
A beautifully paced short film with just the right amount of dialogue and a unique, chilling atmosphere, sound and look.
The narration works perfectly and once again pays a well deserved homage to the very chilling stories in the 1980's series 'West Country Tales'.
Do watch it with the lights on and a beverage to steady the nerves!

A rather nice little ghostly short by Director Darren Perry.
A very simple but very effective.
Reminded me of some of the classics, Hammer House, Mystery and Imagination.
Would be very interested to see what Mr Perry could do with a film of longer format with a reasonable budget.
Liked it.
Well done.

Well told, atmospheric soft horror movie with a Henry James flavor. Interesting the way the restrictions (movie length and obvious limited resources) work to the permanence of the movie: like a music in your
ear, like a haunt, like a ghost.
Roberta Lane is a short ghostly tale which belies the usual expectation of a malevolent experience and presents an encounter of compassion and understanding.
A nice, gentle film that won't leave you white-knuckled, though it demonstrates that some ghostly encounters can be quite benevolent.
I found this short film to be refreshing and I look forward to seeing many more from this filmmaker.
