BEWARE OF FALSE REVIEWS & REVIEWERS. SOME REVIEWERS HAVE ONLY ONE REVIEW TO THEIR NAME. NOW WHEN ITS A POSITIVE REVIEW THAT TELLS ME THEY WERE INVOLVED WITH THE MOVIE. IF ITS A NEGATIVE REVIEW THEN THEY MIGHT HAVE A GRUDGE AGAINST THE FILM . NOW I HAVE REVIEWED OVER 200 HOLIDAY FILMS. I HAVE NO AGENDA.
In this film: A woman (Nicole de Boer) Disillusioned Liza McCann and her son travel to Hollyville to visit her estranged father. The town's profuse decorations and intense Yuletide spirit exasperate Liza, who has hated the holidays ever since she was a little girl. But a series of magic and inexplicable events force Liza to rethink everything she thought was true.
This is a film you will love or hate. If you like Christmas movies then you will love this. If you are a "Scrooge" . "Grinch" or a "Mr. Potter" don't bother to watch.
I like this film even though it has LOW BUDGET and the sets are cheap, If you look close you will see the same extras in one scene. There is a woman in a purple top carrying purse seen several times.
What works wonders in this film is that it does capture (To Me) that great feeling you have when its Christmas Time.
For me I love "The Christmas Season and Movies" as much as most men love Football Season. So a film like "Christmas Town" is perfect for me,
Parents with small children should watch this with them. It will Create a great memory!

The leads who are supposed to fall for each other have NO chemistry at all. The lead actor looks craggy and sloppy like he was dragged backwards through a knothole and had the most unlikeable pushy "get onboard the Christmas Town cult" schtick I wanted to smack him. I'd be concerned about the Hot Cocoa they keep pushing. Cranky lead actress never gets more charming and I cannot understand why anyone would fall for her romantically. Unless it's the cocoa psychedelic effect. This is supposed to be such a Christmassy town and it looks like it is mid-July. I understand that Christmas happens in California but this had no Christmas feeling at all. The boy was an insufferable brat who was far too old to be still believing in Santa. But the terrible parenting probably caused this child to overcompensate. Just an overall unfun Christmas movie. What is what all these good reviews???
There are blatant hints from when they first hit the town that the real Santa has his workshop and base of operations here. From that point on it's a race for the kid to get real proof and more importantly for Mom to believe. Throughout all this there is an unimpressive romance brewing between Mom and Kevin.
A movie like this has little story and it's pointless to judge the acting because that doesn't really matter. There are some low-key funny moments which probably appeal more to a young audience.

I don't know where to start. There's so many wrong things with this movie.
The worst Christmas movie EVER.
Everything is forced.
The characters, the situations, the plot.
A woman meets a man and someone puts a mistletoe above their heads and almost forced her to kiss him!? WTF?!
The kid is SO rude!
I didn't like it at all and I LOVE Christmas movies!!
Of course they end up together!
Nothing is believable.
Low budget but that's not an excuse for the bad script, acting, photography, music and so many etceteras.
It's a pity, because it ruins the spirit of Christmas.
Please don't watch it. It's a waste of time.

Do to a limited budget the special effects in this film are "Terrible" which spoils the overall film however the story does deliver.
What this is about is that a woman (Nicole de Boer) discovers the spirit of Christmas while visiting her estranged father in a town that is decked out for the holidays.
While in town her son discovers the town secret and try's to convince his mom that "All is Not What It Seems".
Now the last shot in this film is laughable. It looks like they spent $5 on a fake Santa Sleigh but the film is still one of those you will enjoy watching with your small children.
Now many people hate this film but I think they just "Hate Christmas Movies".
