    An important film

This is not a "good" film and is definitely not a "feel-good" film either. The acting is often below average (sometimes to hilarious effects) and it is clear that it was made on a minute budget. It is however a incredibly brave and courageous film. The subject matter and its geographical/social context make it so. The poor quality of the production becomes itself a clear indication of the oppression and the violence experienced by some of the characters. It is clear that the film attempts to cover too many issues, however it is difficult to deny that in the mixture of soap and drama sprinkled with a bit of sex, all the issues are fascinating and demands keen attention.

I'm not gay,but this NC-17 Banned Egyptian Gay Movie Is A Masterpiece.

The film's plot revolves around the life of Rami, a 26-year-old gay man, his life in Cairo, and his experiences with his friends and neighbors. All My life has been regarded as the most explicit Arabian Gay Movie and has been banned in All Arabian Countries. Gay Themed Movies Are Banned In Every Arabian Country. In Arabian countries, gay Arabs secretly meet in Steam and Sauna Baths. Thanks To Internet Social Sites, gays now can make numerous friends across the internet.

In All my life, you can see male frontal nudity, and Arabian men making love to other men. Gays will witness the agony and guilt Arab gays face. You will feel with gays even if you are straight after watching this interesting movie.

By the way the movie trailer was previously banned on youtube, but allowed on my space.

This movie is a masterpiece and a must see NC-17 movie for both gays and straight men.

    Rewatched

I had seen this when it came out and had not been impressed. The poor production values and pretty bad acting were dire enough to obscure the message that the film was attempting to convey. This time round the film seemed more relevant and urgent due to the present-day kleptocracy of Sisi which has take the excesses of the Mubarak era to new heights of horror. That gay people were not persecuted under the democracy interregnum run by a Muslim party says volumes about the hypocrisy and venality of the current regime. So the film is even more relevant today.

The information on this site says the film was shot on location in Cairo. This is simply not believable. The only convincing outdoor scenes were shot in California of Dalia demonstrating and on anti-war marches. Scenes from Cairo were generic and cut in. When Rami and Atef were supposedly on the banks of the Nile it was clearly a scene shot in front of some primitive green screen affair. Virtually everything else was on a set. Some of these were just awful - the window frames through which Mina spied on Rami were particularly laughable. There was clearly a small budget for this film.

As for the acting oddly the two absolute worst contributors were both Americans - the hotel tourist and Marc who played Karim's lover. The rest of the cast surpassed these two but not by too much.

Nonetheless... the film's message is more important nowadays than ever. Terrible crimes are being committed against innocent people with the connivance and approval of the state. Such a pity that some of the finance came from Zionist sources as this discredits that message - I have already seen derogatory comments about this film alluding to this and exhortations not to believe propaganda. Whatever the motivations of the funders the film was true when it was made and is once more a realistic portrayal of the oppression suffered by LGBT people in Sisi's Egypt. Despite it's faults (and the film is too long) I'll recommend a viewing.

    just a distortion

what is this fake ? , this is a low quality , disgusted movie produced by Israel and french independent producer , for just distortion of Islam and Arab also Egyptian , may be there are lot of things in our countries passive , but not with this distorted inverted and unreal image , also all the actors in not Egyptians , that's too fake to be credible , 90 percent of the movie is internal scenes the external is just archived scene , with some merging give the impression thats incident happen in Egypt , but that's unreal , not all thing you watch is real , it is just a trial to make some distortion for Islam also youth living in this country , but unfortunately all thing in the movie obvious for any curdle person to be fake

    Great Adult Egyptian Gay movie.

I don't know why Egyptian President Abed Alfattah Al Sissy is harsh on gays. This movie clearly expresses the sufferings and repressions and regret gay men feel towards other men. You will laugh sometimes and may cry at the agony of gays and gays and women will enjoy Male full frontal nudity and gay love making and all actors are real Muslim and Christian Arabs. Gay and Lesbian suffering in Egypt unite them. The movie was filmed during the Reign of Egyptian President Muhammad Husni Mubarak. Rated NC 17 most probably. See it without your kids.

The ex-Mufti (head of the clergy) of Egypt, Sheikh Nasr Fareed Wasel, issued a fatwa (a religious decree) in June 2008 asking to burn the movie, stating that "these films are the gateway to debauchery, to committing that forbidden by Allah and propagate deviant social behaviors." 'All My Life' is the first film to unapologetically tackle homosexual subjects in the Egyptian cinema.

      Mark: And what?

Kareem: And I can't let those bigoted right-wing closed-minded people win. And if we abandon the country, the ship will sink.

Mark: Maybe you can do more good away from here. Where you're not all tied up and muted. You can't speak out, you can't act. If you do, you'll be thrown in prison. And then what good you'll be able to do?
