Tibet in Song

A great documentary about traditional Tibetan music, but a painful one also, because the filmmaker had half his footage seized and was sent to prison by the Chinese authorities. Choepel wants to preserve Tibetan culture, something its overlords are opposed to. Chinese pop music is now ubiquitous in Tibet. There is some wonderful music and singing presented here--who knew that Tibet has such a rich musical culture?
