    Like Chewing Stale Bread

This movie, alas, didn't add much to the topic of a couple dealing with her being raped (for the curious: the rape itself isn't shown). With two mediocre actors (she with a resemblance to Kaley Cuoco) and a screenplay providing almost no plot ideas, we have to watch much too long the husband struggling with the fact that the perpetrator is unknown and the chances to catch him are minimal. His connection to his wife is falling apart.

    Conclusion: watching not recommended.

    Very long and boring

Almost nothing happens throughout the movie -- the lead actor mopes around the whole movie and is pretty unconvincing as an actor.

The lead actress who plays the wife was but the movie itself was too boring to be worth watching. This could easily have been a 20 minute movie.

    "Hold"-Life after Rape

"Hold" is a realistic journey into the lives of a married couple (played by a tormented Robby Storey and Stephanie Rhodes) dealing with sexual assault. The film is shot with a series of uninterrupted takes or 'plan sequence' that boldly forces the audience to live through the trials facing it's main characters. This stylistic approach seamlessly adds to the tension and despair of an already sensitive subject matter. Yes... the director Frank Mosley does this on purpose. The result? "Hold" is an accomplished and poignant look at the reclaiming of life after rape... and rape after marriage...

    • Trivia
Originally written to be a short film. After initial production wrapped in May 2008, Mosley and Storey plugged away tirelessly in the editing room only to find themselves, in the end, staring down the barrel of a 53-minute "short" film. They regrouped and realized that there was more of the story to be told. So, additional scenes were written and a second phase of production commenced in September 2008 which wrapped on November 1. A year after shooting the first frame of "HOLD, the short version" Mosley and Storey found themselves in possession of a lean 85-minute feature film.
