The documentary is great on two levels, one is it is a great travel log .
There is good cinematography of some exotic and beautiful places , and the scenery is amazing. The second is the deep dive into what it is like to live off a couple of dollars a day, and the difficult and more so dangerous ways people have to make a living.
The narration is stark but complete , informative without being rambly or overwhelming. Just good plain objective description of what is going on , and why. I agree with the other reviewers who note that every American school kid should see the series, and every kid and kids parents who want to plot a lawsuit because a teacher looked at them crosseyed should have to see it twice. The hard work these people do is dignified, retiring off the proceeds of a lawsuit is not .Our spoiled and litigious populace needs to be cognizant of the way most people have to live. This gets a ten, and I dont even give tens...

You think we have it bad with the pandemic going on now in America? Watch this mini series and you'll see how spoiled we Americans are.
Why didn't this series get more attention is astounding, but kids in America should watch this and understand how good they have it. There are people in third world countries whose government are non existent in helping them that they have to resort to extreme measures just to make a living. After watching this series, I found a fond appreciation of life here in America, the work I do, the money I make, the life I live. I am truly blessed to live in America. I pray for all these souls that they all will make it somehow. To sum up this review, I'll leave you with one inhabitant being interviewed after illegally trafficking gas fuel on a moped to feed his hungry new born baby while getting paid pennies on the dollar! said it best, "Life is hard, but that's just the way it is. This is all I can do to make a living."
Really interesting window into how people in poor parts of the world struggle. Focuses on road journeys, but meanders all over the place, exploring everyday people's lives on many fronts.
Spoiled westerners need to watch this and get a clue how lucky they are.

This series isn't just about trucks and vans doing battle with unkempt roads and inclement weather, oh no! Be prepared to learn, a LOT. I was totally surprised at the lengths the filmmakers went to to capture the drama, heartache, terror and joy of each series. A true overlooked gem of a series.
This is on Amazon prime, not sure why it still says coming soon here as of oct 2020. I was hooked after the first episode. Not at all what I was expecting from the title. It's about the dangerous things that are just everyday life and work in developing countries. Very well filmed, you see interesting things with just enough narration to know what's going on without being too much narration or unnecessary opinions. Its honest; the truth of how life works. People survive by whatever means necessary. It's life: mundane but fascinating.
